We had Marco as a guide. We hired them with the idea of visiting the pyramids and the Basilica of Guadalupe. We buacaron at 9 AM and finished at 18hs, a total of 9 hours where what really took advantage of the tour was 3 hours (exaggerating) in both places. The rest I felt on a shopping tour. Something I did not hire. The first one was in a gift shop with the excuse of trying tequila and mezcal. They do not explain ANYTHING about the process or where it comes from, they just want you to buy. Once we arrived at the ruins, the guide, before starting the tour, recommended that we buy hats. In the middle of the tour he recommended recommending gifts. He explained little and nothing about the place, much less its history and its essence. He gave us absolutely nothing of the true meaning of the place. You could tell he did not know much and did not like to receive questions. Then they take you to a mega tourist restaurant where if you do not take food they force you to eat there and wait two hours for the rest of the people to eat and watch a show of miriachis who are only looking for tips. When we finally arrived at the Basilica de Guadalupe, the first thing he did was take us to the gift shop, and then give an empty explanation of 15 minutes in the place and finish the tour. Not even gave any information of the author of the painting of the Virgin, a fact that I believe is BASIC. It was noted that the only thing I was looking for was to commission at each stop, something common in the field of tourism, but this was definitely an excess. The hat was completely necessary to walk the pyramids, because these several hours walking under the ray of the midday sun, but they should have recommended that before the tour, to foresee the expense or bring your own. The same with the food, the restaurant was expensive. It was a little used day, what could have been done in half a day, we did it in a whole day (we arrived at the hotel at 7:00 p.m.) and more, because the Basilica deserves us to come back, added to the fact that Mexico City has an infinity of places to know and that time could have been completely taken advantage of. A shame, the worst tuor I did.

Everything was absolutely normal on the way there. We stopped for a tasting of mezcal and tequila, looked at the pyramids, had lunch and went back. After some time, we realized that something was going wrong. Our bus wagged from side to side, drove into the oncoming lane. We asked to stop, but the guide said that everything was fine. As a result, when we stopped on the side of the road, it became clear that the driver could not stand on his feet. Another driver was not sent to us. Some Europeans panicked and left for Uber. Our guide got behind the wheel. The money was returned and apologized, but the sediment remained.

I did a tour to Cholula and Puebla. They arrived 10 minutes late at my hotel. We lost time to go seek more people and then we met at their office, we lost time there too. They could ask people to meet somewhere at a precise time, it would have been better. The guide had unprofessional behavior and attitude. He brought his girlfriend on the tour but we didn't know. They sometimes held and and were proximate everytime there was a break between explanations. He also talkedon the phone about personal matters when we were in the car on our way. He mentioned once he was tired and seemed tired. I ended up feeling uncomfortable. I don't want to bash just for fun but I was disappointed and hope that my critiques will help the company... and the guide to be more conscious about his behavior.

Victor our tour guide was very informed and an OG. It was after the pyramids where the tour got messed up. The van driver was completely wasted and nearly drove off the road multiple times while on the highway and also almost crashed into other cars while swerving. Our van was full with 20 people and we were pleading with victor to make the driver stop. We were forced to stay on the side of the highway while we figured out what to do. I soon realized victor was probably also drunk but he insisted on taking over the wheel despite being 70+ with no license. The boss met us in the basilica after 2 hours and reimbursed us for the tour. Not ideal for anyone on the trip today.

Booked the Teotihuacan tour through Hostel Suites DF. The tour was ok, it is what I expected. I knew I could easily get there by myself taking a public bus, but it was my first day in Mexico and I was willing to pay for the convenience. First we stoped in a place downtown to see an Aztec ruin in the middle of the city. After that, there is a stop in a very expensive shop (tourist trap, don’t buy anything there) where we are offered a sip of a variety of Mexican liquors (they call it “happy hour”, at 10am lol - it’s cool though). Then we headed to the pyramids. That wasn’t a lot of time to stay there but for me it was more then enough. After the pyramids we stopped at a restaurant for lunch (kinda expensive - 225 pesos for the buffet, but there were also a la carte options). After lunch we went to the Guadalupe Church, very quickly (I wish I’d stayed there a little bit more). Overall, you get what is expected for a day tour like this, but it might not be the experience everyone wants. Oh, one last thing - nobody wore face masks and the guide even stimulated taking them off (so if this is important to you, don’t go with them).

Booked through Hostel Suites DF. Was worried due to the v bad reviews below, but tour was very good. Tour guide Miguel was lovely, very friendly and informative, and our driver was very safe - no issues at all. Not five stars because the place we stopped for lunch was a bit of a trap/overpriced (bring your own lunch, easy), and because we could have spent a bit longer at Teotihuacan itself/maybe been given time to look at one of the site's museums. Still, overall good value for money, enjoyed it and super friendly people :)
