Terrible experience. We arrived this morning with a prepaid reservation but they had no car to give us. The guy at the agency just told us "no need to argue I have no car so just get out of my office " and started call the police because we were insisting to be reimbursed. Worst car rental we ever found in ten years of travelling.

These guys always take care of me when I’m in tulum. Not gonna say their prices are the cheapest. And they never have my dang jeep lol but they are knowledgeable and friendly and will help you out if you ask. Always get the 100% coverage never anything less.

I booked and paid in full from/on my credit card prior to arrival and was told since I prepaid in total and not just reserved the car that they had to get me a car. After reading the reviews I went in the day before and that’s what they told me so the next day I arrived and they had a car they picked up from playa ready and waiting. My credit card had liability and they told me I didn’t need the extra insurance but I did get the basic Mexican liability for only 43$ which I paid when I returned the card. Did have to put down a substantial deposit but that came off immediately. Guy was super friendly and everything went off without a hitch. I will say I had to get gas and was told I should get a full tank to get to Ria Lagartos and back and the full tank cost 58$ US and I used maybe a 1/4 of a tank so that was a waste since the Volkswagen Km per gallon was fantastic haha

Horrible, absolutely terrible service! We needed to return our car, but the staff was away. We waited for an hour and then tried to call the numbers provided. The guy hung up on us, so we have wasted half a day and still don't know when we can return the car. Don't book cars with them if you don't want to waste your holiday.

Not gonna lie we had a really smooth experience with car rental in tulum town! Hopped between the ones on this strip, settled on Budget with the cheapest most comp insurance and had the car within 20 mins. ~$60USD/day for the smallest car a Nissan March. Went to Merida and it was adequate.

No point getting mad at the workers for the company policies. It’s true they won’t honor your credit card insurance or the one from the travel site, but you must be new here if you think it’s only them. I’ve dealt with the same person twice and he is very professional and understanding. Don’t book online and don’t book for the day you need a car, show up to the office the day before and see if they give you a better deal. Took down a star because it’s impossible to park the car in that tiny lot with that pothole hell of a street

We know the struggle of car reservations in Mexico and experienced with other agencies, but the rental we did at Budget went very smoothly. Hermon, the coordinator who rented us the car was very helpful in the process, giving us his contact in order to advise me when a car would be available for us. I recommend Budget but advise you not to reserve in advance online, discuss with them the options and pricing ahead, especially as insurance in mandatory to take with these agencies on top of the price you’d have online.

2 huge incidents: 1) Agency wasn't open when I had the scheduled pickup of the vehicule, so I lost 1 day of my trip. 2) After 1 month, many messages by whatsapp and emails with Customer Service, I still have not received my security deposit back.
