Budget - 77600 San Miguel de Cozumel

They will scam you. When we picked up the car, they told us about how honest they were, etc. We booked on budget.com and picked the most expensive insurance when we got there. When we returned the car, we found a $12/day upcharge on our vehicle was added to the bill. Unfortunately, we didn't catch this until we got home.

Due to the very public nature of google reviews, I don’t often bother to comment. But I want to go on the record for Budget’s CZM Airport location. This location was formerly Thrify until late 2016, based upon my recollection. The same people still work here at the same location under the budget brand today. With me, these folk have always been honest and have not ever falsely tried to force optional insurance on me, as most other CZM locations have, in my extensive experience of renting at this airport. Specifically, if you want to decline optional insurance, they will let you do so and you will have a hold on your credit card for the amount stated in your rental contract. The folks here are friendly and honest, and for me that’s worth few bucks more that they tend to charge vs the cheapest alternative option at CZM airport. I will continue to use and recommend this company as they are the honest CZM airport rental outfit. Nota Bebe: They have a shuttle, but its a very short walk to the location, literally across the street from the airport.

We rented a car for the day and this local Budget office provided outstanding service! They assisted in getting us to their site from the ferry terminal. The staff was very friendly and helpful with directions. Carmen was kind enough to let my companion borrow and use her phone charger for the day. A member of the team even dropped us off near the ferry on his way home! The manager, Russell, Carmen and the rest of the team were great. Good people to work with and an inexpensive and reliable car. We'll be back!

You do something online , you loose you money ? do not pay up front, do no use this services , they have no phones locally, the have hide fees , they have no customer service locally, people working there in cozumel don't help at all . Save money I lost mine but I want.to help others

Overall, we had a good experience, but they were not honest regarding our reservation. When I got the final bill, there was an upgrade charge that I wasn't told about, and a bunch of other charges that were not explained to me. I got the same car that I reserved, so I don't understand how they thought it would be ok to charge us for an upgraded vehicle. I also prepaid for our reservation, but I think they charged me again. Otherwise, it was a good experience. I'd use them again and go in with a different understanding of what to watch out for.

Made reservation thru Expedia for $331, to rent a car for a week. Returned car with full tank of gas and in same condition as I received it Ended up paying nearly 600. Untrustworthy

I want to give this place ten stars. It at the most beautiful location on the east side of Cozumel. It's not a tourist trap either. I had the Shrimp, Conch, fish, and octopus Cocktail and my wife had the Pescador Ceviche which was made with delicious conch. Kids had chicken tacos. We also had roasted habanero salsa which was unique and outstanding. Excellent service and drinks. Again, the location was awesome and directly on the Carribean with huge waves

I had ONE day in Cozumel. I made my reservation weeks in advance. I chose Budget because I thought I could trust their reputation. I was wrong. When I arrived, the woman was pleasant but told me they no longer had any rental cars. As I mentioned, I was only in Cozumel for the day so this entire ordeal ruined half of my day. You should rent from somewhere else if you do not want this to happen to you.
