About Bungalows Lydia

Bungalows Lydia is a small Mexican hotel on the Pacific coast of Mexico, a tropical paradise on a truly spectacular coastline. The property has been in the owners' family for generations, so Bungalows Lydia offers you a chance to vacation at an authentic Mexican resort and get a glimpse into a time long past.

Bungalows Lydia sits on a perch above two hidden beaches. It is truly a mini Garden of Eden. Lush jungle stretching for miles. Waves crashing on the rocks. Gentle sea breezes fanning the palm fronds. Sun-filled blue sky. Pristine, untracked beaches. Flocks of pelicans skimming the surf. Incredible sunsets. That is what you will find in this idyllic spot.

Every suite at Bungalows Lydia is a treasure, featuring awe-inspiring ocean and jungle views, partially shaded outdoor lounge and dining areas, a fully equipped kitchen, bottled water, and tasteful, colorful decorations. A grand palapa has an outdoor grill and two welcoming hammocks for relaxation and dining. An infinity swimming pool and hot tub offer unobstructed ocean views of the Pacific, where you can see playful birds, swarming schools of fish, and, in season, majestic whales migrating just off the coastline.

I have traveled here often whenever I’m ready for someplace quiet with beautiful views and secluded beaches. Out of the way, and even worth renting an automobile if you prefer privacy, however, you can take the bus too.

In my opinion this place isn’t living up to its full potential. There’s some many little details that go without notice. #1 I wouldn’t consider this place kid friendly. The springs on the window on the heaven suite weren’t very safe, they slide to the side and it’s just a deep fall. That was in the room with the twin beds. #2 The WiFi was non existent the 3 days we were there. For a place that’s very isolated I would’ve thought that at least you could count on your WiFi but that wasn’t the case the WiFi was very slow and didn’t reach our room. We barely got any service in the balcony. #3 The pool was cold and at night there see no lights to at least light up the pool area. I turned on these tube lights that wrapped around the palm tree. #4 Management was nowhere to the found when we arrived and the guy who does the maintaining of the property wasn’t sure where we were staying. Also as we took off we were looking for the ladies to return the room keys and like the first time we couldn’t find them anywhere. Overall I think this place is sitting on a pot of gold if they could only pay more attention to the small details. The location is beautiful and the sunsets are to die for. The lady during the day is very friendly by the way and also very helpful, even if sometimes it’s hard to find them.

It is one of the prettiest beaches we've visited. The bungalows are very comfortable with fantastic views. Unfortunately not a lot of privacy. We were lucky, all of the other guests were very considerate and friendly.

The problem was that the front desk lady didn’t give us the price of the rooms and she sent us to look it online while there was no internet or phone connection! Then she very rude complaint about taking a picture of the view and not reading the sign (she later accepted there was no sign of photos not allowed) she could say the same in a nice way and not shout that we were angry donkeys!!! Very poor service! We will pray for that lady, she must have a very bad life if she acts like that with potential clients!

service was horrible. i personally am someone that is always traveling and trying out new remote places but this place was absolutely horrible. The staff alone were so unbelievably rude and put off that they actually had a job to do!! Not to mention, there is absolutely no internet or cell reception (which is NOT said anywhere on their website). This place should be shut down or new staff should be hired immediately

Views and location are amazing. Pool is lovely. However, we had no running water or functioning toilet for several days of our stay. The management did not apologize or offer to comp us a night or otherwise make it up to us for this inconvenience. Also, the advertisement for the room that we were given was false: it said 2700 sq feet, and the room was maybe 500 sq feet. The place is rundown, musty, and the kitchen had none of the amenities listed in the ad. If you don't mind taking your chances with these factors, the location is stunning.

Lydia’s space is special. The beaches are sublime and private. The ocean sounds become a relaxing backdrop over time. The location and connection to the ocean is the experience. The owners take care of you here, not employees. They care. My wife and I celebrated our 40th anniversary here. It was wonderful. Frankly the complaints registered by some of the reviews are juvenile..... Enjoy the space and experience.

Incredible spot. We stayed in the Sunset suite which was so beautiful and the bed was a lot comfier than we were expecting. The resort overall didn’t have much in terms of amenities so definitely come with food/drinks or be prepared to drive into town (also fun). The connected beaches were beautiful and 99% empty. Be warned of the loud waves at night - sounds like a war. May need earplugs!
