I was able to hold many different butterflies that had just been born. I cannot put into words what a magical experience it was. Thank you for all you do!!!

Fabian is a great host who provides you with interesting information and facts about butterflies and nature. You can get there by a bus or a taxi (from Walmart). The sanctuary is located next to another business that offers disc golf, temazcal , camping and a restaurant - you'll find the butterfly sanctuary on the left side of the yard when entering the premises.

Our guide was so knowledgeable and his English was impeccable. That was a blessing because sadly our Spanish is not that good. Did you know passionfruit flowers need butterflies??? ? They are worth the short drive to find them. Go learn and support this important work. Every creature has an important role to play in our world.

The tour guide spoke great English and answer ALL of the questions the kids asked. We also got to release new butterflies into the tent that had just emerged in the lab. There’s also a trail to walk around the pond.

Fabian and the other affiliates of the sanctuary are propagating and protecting local/native species to Mexico. As a guide, Fabian was friendly and knowledgeable and genuinely made the experience special. Your experience here comes equipped with some of the best knowledge and expertise on raising and caring for these butterflies, as well as the flowers and plants they use as hosts and for food. I went solo but I can also imagine this as a great destination for kids!

We spent an hour and a half learning about the butterflies and their lives. We absolutely loved our time here and it is highly recommended. They even helped us get a taxi back

Bring water, and I'd recommend setting an appointment online. The sanctuary is simple, but we received a tour that lasted about 2 hours... Well beyond the 45 minutes promised. We learned a ton about the local butterflies and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
