S. en C. integrada por don Constantino Noriega, don José Sánchez Ramos, yerno de don Benito Juárez y quién fungió como socio comanditario, y los industriales, don José María Quintana (Padre), y don José y don Juan Ramón Vega, fundaron la fábrica de hilados, tejidos y estampados “La Carolina”. Al tiempo que en Salvatierra tomaba la administración de la fábrica “La Reforma” don Eusebio González, quién iniciaba una ardua labor de modernización de la planta para ponerla entre las mejores de la industria textil del ramo del algodón, aprovechando la comunicación que facilitaba el ferrocarril, cuya vía se tendió desde 1883, con los centros proveedores de materia prima y los destinos de consumo de las mercancías, y al construir en 1895, su primera planta generadora de energía eléctrica para mover maquinaria pesada. Fue el 13 de abril de 1913 cuando el pavoroso incendio provocado por un corto circuito acabó totalmente con la factoría. El 21 de abril de 1917, en la ciudad de México ante el Notario No. 8, Lic. Ignacio Alfaro, se constituyó la sociedad “Negociación Fabril de la Reforma, Sociedad Anónima” por los señores Eusebio González, Guillermo Gallego, Antonio Blanco González, José Balmes, Joaquín Juárez Duarte y Carlos Piñuela, para volver a operar la planta. Fue hasta 1929 cuando por gestiones del gobierno del estado, del diputado Adolfo Vallejo Gómez y del Dr. Francisco Díaz Barriga, la firma C. Noriega y Cia. S. en C. compró la finca a la Negociación Fabril de la Reforma, S. A. En mayo 1932 se terminaron de instalar de nuevo los procesos de producción, y reinició sus actividades a partir del 15 de diciembre de ese año, bajo la dirección de los hermanos José María, Jaime, Antonio, Manuel y Luciano Arechederra, junto con los señores don Ambrosio Izu y don José Manuel Quintana Zavala (hijo), siendo también socia comanditaria doña María Zavala Vda. de Quintana.
