Cabañas Coconut - 77310 Holbox

It’s a shame when the experience at a place is ruined by a single employee. Then, whatever work goes into making everything work well goes out the window. This is what happened during my stay. I contacted the place directly via WhatsApp and reserved a room for 4 nights. I arrived later in the evening the same day and was met by a rude man at reception who informed me there was a mistake. There would be a room available for the first night, then I’d have to check out as the place was fully booked the 2nd night and then available again for the last 2 nights.. I’m not a difficult person, I understand mistakes happen, but I asked why they didn’t contact me to let me know of the situation so I could have time to make a different plan ( no one wants to check in and out every day during their stay). The man laughed at me, said no it wasn’t possible and continued to be rude. I don’t need a big fake welcome smile, or some out of this world experience, but if you work in hospitality, you should as least try to not create unnecessary problems for your guests, or try to resolve problems instead of being rude and mocking your guests. It was late, we stayed for the night and found a much better place the next day for the rest of our stay. As for the rooms, they were pretty well equipped (fridge, ac, ceiling fan, all rooms have 2 beds, mosquito nets in the windows, a tv that didn’t work). Poorly insulated though, you hear a lot of what your neighbors are doing.

The rooms are nicely decorated and have a nice bathroom with a good hot shower. The cleaningstaff is very nice and excellent at doing there job. The swimmingpool looks as perfect as in the pictures. The person at the frontdesk was not very helpfull, welcoming and even rude to us. He/she was more interested in brushing his/her hair and doing his\heir nails that helping guests out. To bad for such a beautiful place and accomodation. Rooms can be very noisy. Also although noted otherwise the accomodation can NOT be paid with credit-/debitcard.

Very poor experience. Make sure you get a room on the first floor, and which is on the right side (from the entrance). It can get SUPER loud at night. The receptionist doesn’t care about the queries/problems. 1 day before i checked out, they sent me a text to threaten me that i was late to check out and would be charged 250 pesos per hour. 2 stars because the pool looks nice. Location is okay.

Not worth the money! The receptionist is very unfriendly. He doesn't care about any problems and is not willing to help. The bathroom of 2 of the cabanas were very mouldy on the wall! And it smelled horrible.

Amazing little paradise, but noisy at night Overall, we had a great stay and particularly enjoyed: - Cute room with a balcony - Large and comfy beds, super cosy with many pillows - I absolutely loved it! - Cleaning was very good - The pool is super nice - Good location, at a short walk from city centre and the ferries - Large bathroom On the negative side: - Unreliable internet (but the situation is the same on the island, so the hotel is not accountable for that) - Loud neighborhood, playing karaoke until 4am (again, the hotel is not accountable for this noise, but I find it weird that Holbox doesn’t have rules prohibiting noise during the night); the huts are not well isolated at all, so make sure you take your earplugs, even if it doesn’t cover up for all the noises - No plugs next to bed, but actually on the other side of the beds - We had a water cut at some point, with no communication from the hotel; after chatting with some restaurant owners, I was informed it is common on the island; I would have appreciated the hotel to inform us on arrival

Very nice place located just 2 min away the city center, 10 minutes from Holbox Beach and 3 blocks from the ferry. Beautiful decorations, comfortable beds and rooms, and a really nice pool area. Very helpful staff

Clean and comfortable room, refrigerator, water bottles, all good. Nice area, swimming pool, looks good in the evening. The only thing is noise. If you have noisy neighbors like I had, this would be an issue as you can hear literally everything.

We loved our stay here! The cabins are simple, but clean, very comfortable and well designed, with nice little balconies. The pool is amazing too, and the service is really friendly. We would definitely stay here again!
