★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The whole experience was absolutely out of this world. The beds were comfy cozy and the room clean. Restroom nice and clean. The sunset is mind-blowing from above the clouds.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place wasn’t terrible, but not great. I stayed in one of the domes, which look amazing on the website, reality was different. Most importantly, they don’t really advertise that the domes are located a thirty minute walk away from reception, the last bit is a five minute walk on a hilly sandy dirt road. I wouldn’t envy anyone that has to schlep large or even wheeled luggage to them. You’re basically as far away from Centro as you could possibly be while still being in town. Also there’s no signage for the dirt road, and their hand drawn map is not the best, none of the locals will know what you’re asking for. In broad daylight I walked past it, don’t think it would be possible to locate if you arrive late and try to find it at night.
Dome itself was pretty basic, no hot water, wifi or cell signal. Not even a toilet seat, which come on for the price?!?!?
On the plus side, the bed was comfy enough with enough blankets that I slept through the night without getting cold. There is a small fireplace and enough wood to keep a reasonable fire going for a couple of hours.
The main building site is pretty rough and beaten down. It’s basically a hostel with the typical hostel type crowd. Views are indeed fantastic, watching the sunset from the “restaurant”, and sunrise from the dome was incredibly nice.
Place is ok, but there are definitely nicer places in San Jose

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The view for sunset and the people who come there make it perfect! Nice that there is a restaurant with it. The wifi was not that good but you dont need that at a place so cool. The rooms are basic and could be improved but the experience of the place is so good you forget about the rooms. After sunset make a campfire there and hope someone grabs a guitar!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Our private room was really clean and we had hot water and wifi that you could stream. They provided towels, soap and toilet paper. The views are really beautiful and the set up is nice it makes you feel like you’re climbing around rooftops. There’s a fire pit and hammocks. Super nice to have a restaurant on site you never have to leave. Staff was friendly and helpful.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was a bit worried about staying here due to some of the reviews, but ended up having an amazing stay.
I booked a private room with an en-suite, and it was clean, comfortable, and so cozy and warm at night when the temperature dropped. The staff didn’t speak much English but were all very friendly and helpful.
The views are obviously out of this world, and there were some very friendly resident cats and dogs who I really enjoyed interacting with.
Overall I can’t wait to come back!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ They have the most beautiful view but the building are badly maintained. The wall are so thin and we could hear everything next door. A couple probably high and they got frisky like whole night and day. Luckily they could change our room. Two nights max is good if you’re a light sleeper. Room is super basic with just double bed. There’s some room that have toilets but for ours there weren’t and we had to walk quite distance to go toilet. Nevertheless you met some people on the restaurant above and have a nice bonfire at night.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Cabañas La Cumbre has one of the greatest sunset views in San Jose del Pacifico. I would give them five stars, except that I stayed in the Red Forest Dome (Domo Rojo) which is a 30 min walk down the road and it does not have as good a view as the hostel. The dome is nice because it's secluded, but the website made it seem as though it has a good view as well (it does not). If you want the amazing sunset experience (see the pics, but they don't do it justice) you will want to stay at the hostel, or be prepared to walk 30 minutes on mountain roads.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Gorgeous sunset. Otherwise I was essentially allergic to this place. I’m sure this place appeals to a lot of the lost and a confused mushroom-seeking individuals, but unfortunately that scene detracts from the true beauty of this region and establishment. It could be such a magical place. We stayed in one of the “tranquil” domes, but they neglected to advertise that it was 50 feet away from a 12-person cabin that can be rented out. A cabin that is fairly designed for loud gatherings. Which is fair. I would likely party there with my friends too. Not sure why they would put a tranquil dome experience right next to it though. We had to leave at 9pm and find a different place. Not the fault of the celebrating neighbors. Frustrating only because we felt we were sold a completely different experience.
Also…the domes are not nearly as nice as they look in the photos. The domes are also a 30+ minute walk from the reception area, yet you have to pick up the keys at reception. Very poorly laid out. Poor lot managed and thought out.
