Café del Profesor Pitágoras - 97780 Valladolid

As travelling vegans, we went to Café del Profesor Pitàgoras on recommendation. I’m not sure I will be trusting that person’s food recommendations again for a long time. The place itself could do with a makeover; getting rid of the mould on the walls is a bare minimum. Even the flowers on the table were well on their way to the grave. The enclosed picture actually does the food a lot of favours. The portioning was all wrong: there was barely enough guacamole to service the (stiff) tacos, yet copious amounts of beans (read: bean sauce, there weren’t actually any solid beans as pictured in the menu). The breaded/seeded aubergine was similarly uninspired. The plain couscous was accompanied by limp vegetables which seemed suspiciously like they had been reheated. Upon request, we were provided with some noteworthy tahini salsa which brought some well needed flavour to the dishes. I don’t mean to completely denigrate the food, it’s just that the cafe was comparatively slightly more expensive than other eateries in Valladolid and we expected more. It has to be said that the place does have a rustic and bookshopish charm with a light airy feel. However, the menu could do with a complete revamp as the place itself has potential if given a little care and attention. I would be interested to hear from future visitors whether things improve.

The vegetarian food seems OK but this restaurant is NOT very vegan friendly. The outdoor area in back is very cool though and if it had been more vegan friendly I would have given a better score. All the staff the day I went were very friendly and tried their best to accommodate me and the other vegan in my party. PS: If lucky, you'll get to interact with this very friendly feline!

Great potential but in the end it was a slight disappointment. Dry and unfresh carrot cake, you could barely eat that. The bagel was nice though. The fruit salad was small, expensive and nothing special. Plus, the place needs some better maintenance.

Good service and the quality of food is also good. Wifi indoors and in the backyard too with speeds of 50mbps download and 20up.... Difficult to find around here.

Decent coffee. Omelette very sour - too much soya sauce or balsamic vinegar inside. Could not eat. Outside looked nice. Edit: I do not like dishonesty. I gave 3 of 5 which was above average. I tried to salvage what I could because I don't like to waste food. Leaving behind 30-40% of the food is NOT 'finishing everything'. You CAN literally SEE in the picture the balsamic sauce wet in the corner of the omelette. For a nice omelette/breakfast, I recommend CANTO ENCANTO, and Conkafecito.

Awesome place, Partner didn't even realise it was a vegetarian place because of the options! Garden was so lovely with a friendly cat. Frappe and smoothie were both delicious and we devoured three plates of breakfast between two people. Staff were lovely too.

Good place with great options for breakfast, lunch and dinner, a big selection of pastries and (of course) great different options of coffee. They DO HAVE VEGAN options, they even have tofu in some dishes, I do not agree with a previous menu that said that was not able to get vegan options.. vegan dishes are there at the menu. I had a roasted veggies salad with tofu and ginger lemon water, although veggie portion could have included other veggies but carrot and potato, taste was good.
