NEVER USE THIS @#&$-# ATM!!!!!!! I trusted Santander. Most famous bank in Spain. Clean and modern-looking ATMs. What a mistake. The ATM MALFUNCTIONED in the middle of the transaction and SHUT DOWN with my only American bank card inside!!! I waited at the bank for over one hour PRAYING it would restart and return my card. There was not a single person to help inside Santander and not even a phone number to call in the event of an ATM problem. After ONE HOUR, the machine finally rebooted and...IT WOULD NOT RETURN MY CARD. I am now going to have to wait three weeks (shipping is delayed because of Covid) for my American bank to FedEx me a new one as a tourist with no home or family here. The Santander Mexico website is so terrible that you can't even find a number to call for this situations without hours of searching and when you finally call they speak no English. (You are right next to America...but all the employees in Spain speak English.) This level of technical neglect of a major bank's ATMs on the main street of one of the most heavily visited cities in Mexico is completely UNACCEPTABLE. I have seen ATMs malfunction in poorer countries around the world from Ukraine to Palestine and every single time the machine was programmed to at least return the card in those situations. This branch is a disgrace to Santander's name and the nation of Mexico. For all I know, my card was taken as part of a scam.
