★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is legitimately the best taco place around.
There’s no beer but who cares. They are very friendly staff and the tacos are astonishing!
Highly recommend the shrimp Vallarta and shrimp Baja tacos! Can not wait to come back here!

... Stacey and I met the owner, Roberto, of this amazing fresh, local ceviche market & restaurant. He took us back in the kitchen to show us just how big these shrimp are, and we promised to come back, and so we did.
For Christmas Eve dinner we split one of the best burritos we’ve had in Mexico, and we don’t say that lightly. ribeye steak with garlic shrimp and all the trimmings. The massively, huge made-from-scratch lemonade was perfect to wash it all down.
Just one block from fifth on 10 in Playa - we should have come here sooner. Thank you Roberto and all your staff for such a wonderful meal.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A local spot on the neighborhood side of CTM with great garlic fish and shrimp served with a side of cooked veg and rice. Very tasty. Also excellent cerviche tostadas. No alcohol service since it's on that side of CTM.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I’ve been in Playa for a month now and have eaten at several different ceviche restaurants.
This place is my favorite so far. It was recommended to me by my dive instructor. It’s a bit out of the the way from Quinta (5th ave) but it’s worth the trip.
The food is delicious and the owner, Roberto, and his wait staff are friendly and attentive.
Shown in the photos is the house ceviche that they serve . It’s fresh and delicious. I’ve also had the Peruvian style ceviche and it was excellent. I keep wanting to try something else but the ceviche is too hard not to order.
As I said, it’s worth the trip—especially if you want to escape the tourist hustle. As a bonus, there’s a fruit shop across the street that has much better produce than what you find in Soriana.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Boss/Owner might seem nice at first but is ruined our visit. We ordered a mixed Ceviche. Because there wasn't any shrimp in there, we asked the waiter to add some. He went to the open kitchen but was rejected by his boss who said (to him, not to us) that there were indeed shrimps on the plate.
What a joke. We weren't mad or anything when we consulted the waiter. Such mistakes can always happen. But I have never experienced such unprofessional response in any restaurant. Thought it might be childish stubbornness but since the waiter (who felt really sorry) told us that this constantly happens, its probably a regular scam.
The ceviche itself, especially the dressing/salsa, was rather tasteless and not worth the money.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ They deserve some more love & visitors. The chef really knows how to cook, as our octopus was cooked to tender perfection and the coconut battered shrimp were huge and tasty. Value for price is also spot on, worth every peso. Service was also spot on, we had this Argentinian waiter who clearly knew what they were doing. Overall, I'll definitely be back here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A hidden gem and in my opinion the best local restaurant in Playa del Carmen. Fresh food, perfectly combined flavours! the traditional Veracrusian soup Chilpachada is to die for and the and tacos ensenada are the best tacos i had in Mexico.
