California Inn - 26025 Piedras Negras

The hotel was very clean but the pool was very warm and dirty and the wifi was not working

Me gusto mucho. The rooms are great!

Last night i stayed in this hotel .the room was a non smoking..but it did smell..when i told the front desk..they moved me to another room...the AC wasn't working properly..i went back to front desk .they told me .they would move me tp another room but with a exra fee...i ws not happy and would never return....not professional..

This is a very nice, and inexpensive, place to stay. The bathrooms and rooms are clean, the people at the front desk are friendly, but you need to speak Spanish (or lots of hand language! lol) ... The rooms lack the amenities of a fridge, microwave, etc. but are comfortable and 1/2 to 1/3 the price of a comparable chain hotel! I paid $30 USD a night during 2015 on my trips to Piedras Negras. Also, there is a good money exchange house (casa de cambio) right across the street. For the price it is definitely 5 star.

Me and my family always stay at this hotel but recently they are all about the money! Keep the towels of their dirty floor or they will charge YOU for their dirtiness! A towel fell on the floor and the drain was dirty and the towel got rust stains on it and we were charged for $20.00 us dollars for it.

This is a very nice and clean hotel to stay at. Great experience and will definitely stay stay there again!

Horrible experience! We got a room and then found out there was an incredibly loud buzzing noise from a light or generator or something and decided we just wanted to leave but even though we had not even gone in the room they wouldn’t refund our money so we stayed in a different room for an extra $200 pesos and it was actually fine although a bit dirty. BUT the next morning when we went to check out they didn’t want to return our deposit bc the front desk said the owner saw us smoking in the room. We don’t smoke! The front desk then said they couldn’t find the owner so oh well. I then see the guy in the room next to ours standing in his room with the door open smoking. Keep in mind he rents by the month and is seen EVERYDAY smoking so they definitely didn’t have us confused. After telling the front desk they say take it up with the owner, after stalking around the place and finally finding the owner she says oh yeah no problem go get your deposit. Obviously, she just tried to make some easy money and then decided it wasn’t worth it. Also definitely don’t stay if you don’t speak Spanish as you will totally be left just ripped off. At least we were able to (finally!) get our money. Horrible place!

They go into your room while you're out doing your shopping. (Possibly looking through your belongings) They asked for a $20.00 deposit on top of the high rate, and they will use whatever they find in your room against you just so they can keep your deposit!
