Camp Akumal - 77737 Tulum

Beautiful jungle villa with pool, lovely rooms and kitchen containing everything you need, hosts very welcoming. Didn't want to leave. Super comfortable.

We had an amazing time there at the "Camp". Kurt was super friendly and helpful as in to where to visit or eat at. We highly recommend, Camp Akumal, for individuals looking for some quiet and relax time away from busy noisy cities like Cancún. The camp is very close to many beautiful beaches and maya ruins. We are looking forward to staying at camp Akumal again. The king studio was equipped with your basic appliances to make your stay more relax if you like to cook on site. The room was awesome and we love the decor. There are bbq grills on the premises and two beautiful clean pools. We had one of the pools to our selves most of our stay! Small apartments on the jungle side of the Cancun-Tulum Highway complete with kitchenette. The owners are very welcoming and ready to assist in any way possible. A great place to go if you're looking for something off the beaten path - a more local type of experience.

We had a ball at Camp Akumal! We enjoyed the grounds, our neighbors, and both pools. If you're renting a car, this is the optimal spot to be as it's very close to everything but still tucked away. It's well-designed with a bit of charm, meets all of your needs, but still feels super simple. It's the jungle, so there are bugs, but we traveled with our toddler who thought they were very cute and fun! The hosts are super accommodating and friendly

Nice and clean apartment, kitchen is good equipped, beds comfortable. A.C. is working well. The pool in front of the house is nice, we got good service from the whole team . The beach car was very welcome to be included in the package. We got many nice recommendations and visited many fantastic places like Cynote Eden, Crstalino. Both very close and very nice especially early morning when they open between 8 and 9 am. Thanks to the team for the great stay we had.

We were so lucky to have found Camp Akumal. I think 5 stars doesnt even begin to describe the place. We spent 6 months in Mexico in the Yucatan Peninsula of those 6 months we stayed for 4 months at this amazing place. The location: Camp Akumal is tucked away in the jungle, not too far from the main road, about 3kms from Akumal Pueblo, 20 minutes from Tulum and 30 minutes from Playa del Carmen. You can reach both towns easily with your car. We lived in apartment number 9. It was very spacious, had a small balcony overlooking the pool. The kitchen was perfectly equipped, it had everything one could need, coffee maker, toaster, blender, pots and pans etc. Weekly cleaning and bottled water was provided. The pool and the garden was wonderfully maintained, and the apartment was always spotlessly cleaned. Seriously I'm a bit of a neat freak, and I rarely stayed in such a clean and tidy place. The bathroom was well equipped,with a hot water shower, the water pressure was good. The living room area has a nice coffee table, and a sofa that can be opened to function as a small bed. Overall the whole apartment is very bright, airy, it had fans and airconditioning. The internet was working well, even next to the pool (a big plus) The owners: Dana and Fabian were the most wonderful hosts we have met in our journeys. They were very responsive and helpful. I felt very safe knowing if anything happens I can count on them. They even left a quite large list of places to visit, things to see, restaurants to try that was a wonderful addition, and very helpful :) The property has 2 pools in total, 2 grills (one gas, one charcoal) and a nice parking area. The whole place feels very secluded, private and peaceful. The price was very reasonable and they rented out a car for us for a very good monthly rate. I don't think that I'll ever forget the 4 wonderful months that we spent in Camp Akumal, exploring the area, lounging in the hammocks next to the pool, listening to the music of the jungle as the sun was setting. 2 stays and really like the place. We will be back for sure as location is great and the Canadians are pretty cool too. Clean, comfortable, and all you really need as a home base for a great vacation.

Friendly and accommodating. I have travelled a bit and here are the facts. You could get some place more fancy, but why? They have a good thing going with a fair price. The camp is clean and has cute character with air con, hot water, wifi for checking in with people as you explore daily and most importantly, I feel safe (aka can sleep through the night). Camp Akunal has been a great home base for us as we explore the Yucatan and beyond. Before we have stopped for a night or two on our way out and back. This time we booked 12 nights and have seen more of the local area. The camp hosts have a great list of suggestions and will gladly chat about what to see.
