★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A historic fort in Campeche that holds some Mayan artifacts. The history of the forts and the pirates is something I didn't know before visiting here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fantastic museum with several jade funeral masks and other artifacts excavated in Campeche. Most of the signs are in English so definitely still worth it if you don't speak Spanish.
Hours on google maps are wrong, it's open tuesday-sunday 8am to 5pm. Tickets are 60 pesos.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is the first time I've gone to a Mayan museum. The artifacts were intriguing and oneof a kind. The fort itself was very impressive. With a multitude of cannons. Very well kept.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What a fantastic place to inmerse in the Maya culture, quick but very complete. It's a very thorough glimpse of the rise and demise of the Maya civilization explained with artifacts and very easy to comprehend texts. Excellent for families as its quick for the little ones. The cultural ministry did a great job here!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very well preserved piece of history.
Building is in great shape. Lots of cannons from above.
The grounds are free to explore without paying a fee, which can be just as fun if you’re not looking to see the Mayan exhibits inside. Lots of great Mayan art and history in exhibitions.
Not a lot of history on the actual building or the people who made it, which I was hoping there would be.
Beautiful views of the Gulf from the top.
You can do this in about an hour.
