★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Our “taco advisor” Nav was absolutely wonderful. We are taco eating people, and both myself and my husband can honestly say we had the best taco of our lives on this tour at a place we would have never found on our own. Highly recommend the tour and the very knowledgeable guide Nav was fun, informative, and had a great sense of humor. Will definitely do again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A small confession: I was initially a little hesitant when my husband booked this tour because I thought I’d have more fun walking on the beach than spending several hours getting tacos from different places downtown. Turns out I was very wrong.
The food, which was only part of the experience, was delicious. We tried a good variety of tacos, tamales, drinks, and dessert at places we would never had known about as non-locals. My husband and I would get different things and share, and they were all great.
Navarro, our guide, gave us a breakdown of the places and their options, as well as some fun facts about the food and the city. He was such a cool sport—funny, sweet, knowledgable, and considerate. He checked if anyone had any dietary restrictions and spice preferences, and made sure everyone had something they could eat at each place. After the tour, he also asked us which ones we liked best. It seems like he likes to make sure his selections are up to date.
You could tell that they put a lot of attention to detail in everything just by how easy and smooth the tour felt. You didn’t have to worry about a thing: where to go, where to sit, how much things cost, how much to tip. You just had to show up, sit down at a table that was already set, and select the option you wanted. Then you enjoyed your food and hopped right out to go to the next location. We had a family with a sweet little toddler in our small group, and Navarro would also tell them whether the place would be stroller-friendly, and had a booster seat ready at places where they could.
We also got a chance to stroll down Mercado 23 and visit a local shop where there were hand crafted souvenirs. As we were enjoying dessert, we also got a tour of the neighborhood with the beautiful Sea Walls that were part of the PangeaSeed Foundation’s public art program, and Navarro told us about some fun stories behind the murals.
All in all, the experience gave us a beautifully curated taste of downtown Cancun and was packed with flavor and information. Navarro was an amazing guide and made the tour so much fun. Treat yourself to this tour, you won’t regret it. We’re certainly looking forward to coming back to Cancun to try some of their other ones!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nassim was my guide and there was another gentlemen who did all of the driving. Each time I got out or in the vehicle, both guides got out of the vehicle to open the doors for me or grab any items I purchased along the way. Great tour for authentic Mexican food, culture, city views, and shopping. The market was one of my favorite things. The guide also was very knowledgeable and many of the locals are familiar with him so the services at restaurants are quick when you show up with Nassim.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Such an enjoyable evening, touring a delicious assortment of downtown food establishments in Cancun, with our wonderful guide, Navarro. The group size is perfect- about 12. You are able to visit with other fellow travelers as everyone enjoys Mexico’s authentic culinary scene. My husband and I enjoyed it so much that we did it twice in our 5 day trip!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We did the Taco Tastig tour in Playa Del carmen. As people who like sampling different foods, it was truly a highlight of our trip. We were taken to some places off the beaten track, and given the opportunity to try various styles of taco that I didn’t even know existed. When finished off with a traditional dessert from a street stall and a few beers, this made for a great evening. Our guide Carlos was knowledgeable and enthusiastic, and happy to give his time and expertise beyond the tour itself. We would definitely consider similar tours with this company in other parts of Mexico if available. Highly recommended.
