Google map no longer allows me to mark a spot when offline, so this location is not exact, only by memory. However the photo I took is where I crossed the river and started the hike. You'll see a jeep road, and a sign for Rancho Huerta Osorios. Follow the road (fence on your right) to Campo Alegre (? Not sure I got the name right. But there's no other structures here). There, at the gate, you'll see a big boulder with painted signs (HP). Now you can follow the trail. The trail is easy to follow for the first ~1.5km. Then it gets a bit rough. Follow the water pipes (rubber tubes). Eventually you'll see the thin waterfall Hilos de Plata across the canyon. The view is somewhat obscured by trees. You may try to descend the steep hill to the water level for maybe some better view, and possible continuation. I turned around in front of a seemingly impassable cliff. I was wearing sandals, on this misty day, it was too slippery for me to attempt the descent. Overall, not very interesting. The river is just a small creek. You don't often see it. There's occasional trash along the way. No animals, not even many birds. The valley is narrow, and reasonably pretty. I liked the solitude. I was totally alone on this Monday for miles, a rare treat in Mexico, by using only public transportation. You can get here by bus to Nogales. Then, just walk.
