★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tropical paradise! It is surreal to see such a beautiful waterfall at the bottom of a canyon in the middle of nowhere. Worth walking all those stairs!

We went mid day and only saw one family and small groups of friends and was super surprised because the area is very beautiful! The canon and the waterfall are another world and I would expect a place like this to have alot more visitors. Maybe it is the stairs. It is about 750 steps but if you are reasonably fit this should not be a problem. It can be a bit slippery so keep in mind when walking around the waterfall but I highly recommend visiting!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful waterfall, very quiet to camp at night. Extremely busy during the day and hot in the camping area/parking lot. They advertise as if there is camping available, really it's a huge parking lot that recently burned. Awesome cave that has a couple of inflatable boats to use to explore the cave. Water is decently warm at the river, waterfalls and in the cave. Crystal clear water. There are bathrooms to use for $5 pesos. Be prepared for a long trip back up from the falls, it's a long stair climb.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Aguacero waterfall, just west of Ocotzocuautla, is BEAUTIFUL!! I've been twice, and it's worth doing what you have to do to get there. From Tuxtla Gutierrez, go to Ocotzocuautla and get a colectivo to the turnoff. From there, it's a 3 1/2 kilometre walk to the entrance. Then it's about 800 or so stairs down to the canyon.
And then, if course, back up again, and the walk back to the highway.
Also, there are taxis that will take you from Ocotzocuautla, and come get you later.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a group of beautiful waterfalls at the bottom of a splendid canyon with a shallow water river flowing amongst the fallen rocks. You can come in for 37 pesos and start going the 729 steps down to get to the bottom of the canyon, enjoy the sand bars, get underneath of any water drop and enjoy the manificient formations. On top of that, you can come and camp for 100 pesos, both in the parking area or down by the river; you will be in the middle of the nature most likely on you own after 6 pm, when they shut the entry booth.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Incredible falls and canyon to explore. In the winter the falls are only in the sun starting from about 1pm, so you won't get good photos before then. Went on a Sunday and while it got crowded, it didn't feel like it since the area is so spread out. Most of the rocks of the falls are porous, so they are very easy to climb.
We walked up steam for about an hour. Completely alone the entire time. I highly recommend water shoes. Barefoot got a bit painful after a couple hours of walking on the gravel.
Only downside is that the restaurant is quite overpriced. If they are going to charge 180 pesos for one carne asada plate and two small tamarind drinks, they should at least have a menu with the prices printed. Also, it's quite silly that you pay 50 pesos to enter the park and then have to pay each time to use the toilet as well, especially when it was clearly built using government funds.
We took a taxi to the falls (200 pesos) from where we were staying in Coita. On the way back we walked the 3km to the main road and took a colectivo (13 pesos) back to Coita. I recommend this as there are no taxis either on the main road heading to the falls, nor at the entrance to the falls themselves.
