★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Es una capilla bella y muy limpia, pero no le di las 5 estrellas porque me preocupó el Sacerdote, pues considero que únicamente debe de dejar el cubrebocas al celebrar la Misa, porque si no lo usa fuera de este Culto y al ser un adulto mayor, se expone al peligro de contagiarse del conocido y terrible mal del que tanto se habla. También considero que la Sagrada Hostia debe darla en la mano y no en la boca, para evitar contagios, todo ésto sin afán de ofender al Sacerdote y a nuestra Santa Iglesia.
It is a beautiful and very clean chapel, but I did not give it the 5 stars because the Priest worried me, because I consider that he should only leave the mask when celebrating Mass, because if he does not use it outside of this Cult and being an older adult , is exposed to the danger of catching the well-known and terrible disease of which so much is spoken. I also consider that the Sacred Host should be given in the hand and not in the mouth, to avoid contagion, all this without the intention of offending the Priest and our Holy Church.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La Iglesia de la purificación de Nuestra Señora es de gran importancia para el barrio de la Merced, puesto que es quien le da el nombre a esa parte de la ciudad y a la estación de metro (Candelaria L1/L4)
Es una Iglesia muy limpia y ordenada. Sencilla y pequeña. Sin embargo su altar es bellísimo, al igual que el conjunto escultórico y la imagen de la Virgen de la Candelaria titular de la rectoría. También se encuentran imágenes muy significativas como el Cristo en pasta de caña que tiene sus brazos móviles. Así también podemos encontrar una imagen del Señor de la Cañita, que está a la entrada del templo.
Obviamente al estar en el barrio de la Merced la zona circundante está descuidada pero vale la pena ir a visitar la iglesia y reflexionar sobre como la Iglesia de la Candelaria sigue teniendo un contexto marginal dentro del primer cuadro de la ciudad, tal y como lo tenía hace 400 años. Recordando que ese barrio en tiempo de la Colonia era "peligroso e inseguro" porque ahí estaban los asentamientos indígenas.
Tienen las medidas de higiene bastante estrictas y cuidadas. Hay celebraciones Cotidianamente y adoración al Santísimo. También en la entrada del templo está la venta de imágenes y artículos religiosos así como los informes sobre cualquier asunto parroquial.
Una joya dentro del barrio de la Merced. Bella y sencilla, digna de visitar.

Remembering that this neighborhood in colonial times was "dangerous and unsafe" because the indigenous settlements were there.
