La obra contiene una torre con doble campanario y sus muros son de piedra que trabajan a compresión, sosteniendo cubiertas de bóveda de cañón corrido y en su cúpula central o de crucero contiene una linterna en lo mas alto de la misma. Se observa que su planta es en forma de una Cruz Latina y en su interior se encuentra a San Francisco de Asís, que es el Santo donde originalmente se adora Actualmente permanece cerrada al público, y en su enrejado exterior se anuncia la fecha de junio de 1870 Los alrededores de la Capilla son muy interesantes porque se encuentra sobre calles empedradas muy empinadas y callejones con construcciones pintorescas, y esto genera un gran placer caminar por los alrededores. Recomiendo ampliamente visitar esta capilla y la podemos encontrar exactamente atrás del Santuario del Señor de Zelontla.
