La cruz de piedra de la entrada es una escultura Novohispana. El altar mayor, de estilo neoclásico, cuenta con una pintura de la virgen de Guadalupe. El frontón superior contiene la famosa choza o jacal con una palma, lugar donde se celebró la primera misa y la torre que después vino a sustituir al jacal, en el remate la imagen de San Mateo. Se puede visitar antes de las 3 de la tarde aprox. It is one of the first temples dedicated to the arrival of the Spaniards. It is unknown when it was built however it is already reported for the year 1531. The main altar, in neoclassical style, has a painting of the Virgin of Guadalupe. The upper pediment contains the famous hut or jacal with a palm, where the first mass was celebrated and the tower that later came to replace the jacal, at the top the image of San Mateo. You can visit before 3 pm approx.
