★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hacia 1611, el historiador don Juan Buenaventura Zapata consigna en su Cronología de la muy insigne, noble y leal ciudad de Tlaxcala un acontecimiento que no pudo pasar inadvertido en toda la comarca. Luego de mencionar a los personajes que durante ese año ejercerían los cargos de gobernador, alcaldes y regidores, en breves palabras menciona: “Entonces se apareció el señor San Diego en San Gregorio Metepec. Después murió la mujer, a los tres años de que se le apareció.”
