Car Rental Cancun by City Car Rental - 77500 Cancún

Don’t rent with this company if you want a smooth process. I have been trying to book with them for the last 24 hrs and here’s my experience: 1) payment won’t work online unless you have a US zip code. I spent 2 hrs on a call and whatsapp trying to sort it out. If you don’t pay online for booking, no reservation. 2) only Cancun airport location is working despite 4 locations that are listed on a website when you book. The system will let you book wherever but you will never know that the other locations don’t work. I only accidentally found it out. 3) after they took my booking reservation money, they told me they will pick me up to get to the airport to pick up my car. No communication during the day and then office is closed. Now I don’t even know if they will give me anything and if anyone comes. TBU once I see what they say tomorrow. So far: no communication, no organization, not workable at all. PLEASE CONSIDER OTHER OPTIONS EVERYONE

It is one of the few companies that provide you with the correct information when quoting. The units are practically new (the car I rented had little travel), the person is honest and attentive to customers. I highly recommend this agency.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. I booked the car online to pick up in downtown Cancun. And I prepaid the guarantee fee $30 USD. The booking went thought but then the company reached out and said they could only provide service in the airport. For pick up, they can provide shuttle bus for me to go to airport. But it doesn’t work with my schedule and plans. I try to ask my money back right after the booking (within 10 mins), but the company refused to give my money back. It’s is scam.

This is one of the few car rental agencies in Mexico, which is very helpful and very honest. The prices were good, the attention was great and the follow up was very professional. I send my regards to all the team that gave me a car in good condition and very safe.

Booking the car: Website would NOT LOAD the payment page although they sent a "reservation confirmation" of sorts. If you do not pay, your car is NOT GUARANTEED! So i used the chat function to chat with an agent and they sent me a different link to pay and essentially booked the car for me. That payment is 20% to reserve the car. Agent was great. Now, the site states there are several locations: Cancun Airport and Cancun Downtown. ...There are not several locations. This made it VERY confusing to return the car. The confirmation email they send you does not list addresses. You pick up and return the car at the same place. Please note the address when they shuttle you to the car rental place. Getting the car was easy. They texted us the day we were to pick up the car so we could coordinate pickup time. They shuttled us from the Ferry to the car rental area (free, but you tip) -- that process was smooth and easy. Indeed, the basic insurance is included but they of course upsold us on the "medium" insurance that covers a total loss for $100 more. Overall the 6 day rental for an economy car was about $450. They carefully inspect the car before you leave and also after your return. As i said, the return process was kind of chaotic because the return location was unclear. Don't let that happen to you, and allow plenty of time before your flight as traffic around the area was pretty bad for ours. They then shuttle you to the airport. Overall, the staff and location was very professional, they just need to be more clear about their location and the booking process with their site needs to be fixed.

City Car Rental gave us an excellent service, from the moment we contacted them they were kind and gave us all the information we needed. I highly recommend this agency as they are the most honest we have rented from. I highly recommend paying the guarantee fee, 15% of the total cost. This way, you can guarantee your vehicle.

If you are looking for a reliable rental company, with fair prices and new cars, this is the best by far. When you contacted them, they were very friendly, the rental process was easy, and they transferred me to their office, so I didn't have to worry about the cab to the airport. I highly recommend guaranteeing the reservation to keep the price.
