The chicken sold here is old, slimy and texturally bizarre. You can easily tear the raw chicken into pieces with your hands as if it's been chemically broken down. It is almost impossible to safely and consistently cut into cutlets due to the slime. No other chicken I've purchased in the area (or anywhere else in the world) is like this stuff. Steer far clear of the chicken (and this is based on two episodes). I will not make the mistake again. With that said, the ground beef seems to be fine and just as good as the other butchers. But given their standards in selling rotten chicken breasts, I can't really trust the rest of the stuff. They do carry some decent items in the dairy realm which I will continue to purchase. Prices are a bit higher than competitors. They do carry imported food items as well. The best reason to shop here is they are the only carniceria open late, but I cannot recommend the chicken in any circumstance. By the way, the carniceria is not a taco restaurant; the taco restaurant opens in front of the carniceria at night.
