The carnitas are delicious, but the place is very full and the tables need more cleaning, perhaps because they are shared with more establishments, since it is a public square.

Llegas a la plaza principal y los diferentes puestos te dan probaditas (de birria también). Nosotros probamos la de Carmelo y estaban espectaculares. Pedimos un cuarto y te las sirven en su hoja de papel con tu medio kilo de tortillas, tu guacamole, cebollas preparadas con chile manzano y chiles encurtidos. Nada de platos ni cubiertos eso si! Muy recomendables! Quiroga's carnitas deserve their reputation! Juicy, freshly made and with a lot of flavor! You arrive at the main square and the different stalls give you a taste (of birria too). We tried Carmelo's and they were spectacular. We ask for a quarter and they serve them on their sheet of paper with your half a kilo of tortillas, your guacamole, onions prepared with manzano chili and pickled chilies. No plates or cutlery, yes! Highly recommended!

You have people asking you if you would like to table for your group. Once seated they bring you carnitas , drinks and other local dishes. If you don’t like the type of carnitas they bring you make sure to select your own, Carmelos is by far the best ones.
