Please do yourself the favour and go to this food stand along the road to try their cochinita pibil tacos and pibihua, pictured with onion topping. Service is really fast and for the cheap price the food is incredibly rich and good! Simply amazing little snack on the way from or to the plaza central Also, we definitely didn't have any stomach issues afterwards ;) Tacos are just 10 pesos and the pibihua 13 pesos each. They also have cold soft drinks but we didn't get any.

After having developed a taste for Cochinita Pibil in Merida (get it from restaurant La Chaya Maya!), I've had some lukewarm experiences with the dish since. So I asked the local Raimundo in my hostel where I can get the best Cochinita in Valladolid and he was quick to point out that this is street food as should be eaten as such. I ended up eating five tacos at the stand and could have kept going, a feast. At $11/taco (I think $25/torta,) it's of course an absolute bargain. There are no places to sit, so you just eat the food standing on the sidewalk. There is a water tank with a tap on the street cart to wash your hands afterwards. Reorder and pay at the end. You can also get it to takeaway, but I'd say it's smart to stick around, you might want more of it. Apparently there are two different cart owners operating the place, but both are supposedly great.

Street food at its best. What a pulled pork. I usually don't eat pulled pork , but man this was divine. Must try food.

Fantastic taco de cochinita pibil for just 11 pesos. An added bonus is that you can try it at night, when the traditional cochinita pibil places are long closed.
