Casa Almendro - 77760 Tulum

Excellent…from cleanliness and little amenities like reading lights and free water, to facilities like a well stocked kitchen and rooftop, to the welcoming staff. Location is excellent in a very quiet but safe and convenient location across from a market, only 2 blocks from the Main Street. Look no further!

Great location, waking distance to Tulum city and the Bus station. We enjoyed the stay so much we decided to extend the stay for 2 more days. Jorge was very helpful throughout our stay and we managed to book a day tour to Chichen and Cenotes with them very last minute, would definitely choose this place again if we come back!

As a solo female traveller I felt very safe staying here despite it being downtown; ~10 mins walk from ADO was no issue. Rooftop and bike rental (50 peso for 2 hours) are big plus points. The room was a bit dark for me (ground floor courtyard) but generally clean and comfortable. Water refill is a welcome bonus to avoid yet more plastic bottles.

We loved our 4 night stay here! The room we stayed in was spacious with two double beds and kitchenette. Even if you don’t have a kitchenette in your room, there’s a shared kitchen space. There’s also a place to hang your clothes outside. They have a super cute rooftop to watch the sunset and relax with some fresh fruit from across the street and gas station liquor. There’s no bugs on the roof! Incredible! It’s really peaceful, great location, water refill stations (bring a reusable bottle and save on plastic), and amazing staff! We love Lorena, Jorge and Francesco the owner. Stay here, you won’t regret it!

Nice little island of peace in Tulum. We loved the whole interior of the hostel, lovely colours, full of plants, cozy roof terrace. Room was comfortable, great hot shower and drinking water available. Good value for the price, absolutely recommended.

We had a lovely time staying at Casa Almendro. The rooms were nice, super clean, and the AC was a huge bonus. Bathrooms are good and the shower had great water pressure. There is a terrace on the roof where you can relax with a book or a beer, plus a kitchen for cooking. The staff were super friendly and accommodating, even receiving an important package for us during our stay. There are also bikes you can hire for 100 pesos/day, which is a great rate in Tulum and a good way of getting to and from the beach (taxis in Tulum are extremely expensive - do not even bother). One thing to bear in mind is that it is very quiet. During our stay, there were very few other guests and there is no party/socialising atmosphere - it felt more like a hotel. For us, this was a big plus, but worth bearing in mind if you are looking for a social place to stay. Also, there are no laundry services, but there are plenty of nearby laundromats.

Such a warm and welcoming atmosphere from the staff and owner. This casa is very well run, organised with everything you need. It was quiet with good soundproofing, quite rare around here.. Bedside lamps, black out curtains, comfy bed and pillows, long mirror and water coolers on every floor. A clean and tidy kitchen upstairs on the relaxing terrace. I felt safe and slept very well here. My room downstairs had little light and breeze as it faced a wall. The windows have been thoughtfully frosted for privacy which meant no view. I would have had a different experience upstairs, making it a perfect 10. But it’s just luck and I have no regrets.

Loved this place! We stayed for two nights. The staff is very welcoming and warm, the rooms were clean, the bed was huge (!) and there is a nice chill area on the roof. Kitchen was nice and clean too! Would definitely recommend this place to my friends.
