★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lovely Mexican styled Casa. Neighbourhood felt safe. Short walk to the convenience store, Markets, and plaza and an even shorter walk to the frida kahlo house. Kitchen is also great for saving $ to make own meals!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Loved the area in a quiet neighbourhood (important for sleep after spending two weeks in such a big and busy city!) right next to the Frida Kahlo Museum, Coyoacan markets, and some of the best cafes we went to in Mexico City. Angel was a perfect host, offering info in excellent English, and he was available for tours. (I recommend taking him up on this if you don't understand Spanish super well and want a more authentic experience with the local sights and experiences ~ I especially wish I had someone explaining our Xochimilco experience, as some guys did try and scam us here.) The house was cosy and clean and we had everything we needed, like water, clean towels, plenty of room to unpack and use of the kitchen if we needed it. I really appreciated that Angel was respectful of our space, but happy to chat too. All up a really lovely experience that I would recommend. I hope we rerurn!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Casa Ayvar is a great choice if you want to visit Coyoacan. Private rooms with shared bathroom, use of kitchen and common room. Ricardo is a terrific host, as well as Chucho, the doorman. Nice quiet neighborhood but just a short walk from all the action.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I just spent a pleasant weekend here with my dog when we had to leave home to allow for earthquake repairs in my Mexico City apartment. Location is unbeatable -- one block from Frida Kahlo Museum, in a very nice residential neighborhood only a ten-minute walk to the historic center. This is a family enterprise and it feels like it -- cozy and welcoming, with cats and dogs wandering around and a pot of coffee warming in the kitchen. Room was spare but adequate, with no TV and a shared bath, but extremely clean. The young host, Angel, speaks fluent English and offers tours of his hometown. Price is very reasonable.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place is gorgeous. I was so sad that I could only stay one night. Our room was at the top (3 adults and 1 child). The entire room was perfection, clean and tidy. My bed smelled so clean and my pillows and sheets so soft. The bathroom was very big and clean. The hosts were so polite and also bilingual which helped where my spanish was lacking. There is a kitchen and livingroom downstairs, all of which are very clean. Not to mention the view from my window was simply lovely. I would definitely come back!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A great place to stay in Mexico City. Wifi, very clean kitchen, sleep like a baby. That spirit of Coyoacan neighborhood not easy to find. Walking distance to Frida’s museum, walking distance to restaurants and coffee shops. And the best part: pet friendly. I highly recommend it!
