Casa de Carmen - 48380 Puerto Vallarta

Casa de Carmen is a wonderful place to live or stay. I had the pleasure of living in apartment #7, a large one bedroom with two terraces for two years. Every morning the sun peeked into my bedroom and at night I saw the cathedral and fireworks from the pirate ship light up the sky. Just up the hill from Basilio Badillo (aka restaurant row) in the Alta Vista neighborhood, it is close to restaurants, shopping, and the Mercado. It is a 10 minute walk to Los Muertos Beach and a 20 minute walk to downtown. The walk home is steep but worth it. Casa de Carmen is a secure, traditional Mexican building, well-appointed with creature comforts and thoughtful art. There is a rooftop splash pool and patio with bathrooms and a shower. This is not a luxury building. There are roosters and people in the street. Casa de Carmen is sparkling clean and light, it harkens to times past when time did not press upon us, and feels like home.
