Sin duda alguna esta es la más espléndida casa colonial de la región, por la disposición de su fachada y la belleza de la portada e interiores. Perteneció al rico minero y terrateniente Joseph del Campo Soberón y Larrea, Conde del Valle de Súchil, quien la mandó a edificar entre los años de 1763 y 1764. Su constructor fue un maestro alarife de nombre Pedro de Huertas, quien dotó a la casona de una excelente fachada e interiores de magnífico estilo barroco salpicado por infinidad de motivos de gusto rococó. Destacan su fachada de dos cuerpos dispuesta en ochavo, y la elegante decoración del segundo cuerpo, con pilastras estípites decoradas profusamente con motivos vegetales que parecen rematar en el nicho donde se encuentra la escultura de San José con el Niño. En el interior sorprende la magnífica arquería baja del patio, con columnas y arcos decorados con estrías zigzagueantes que contrastan con la sencillez de la parte superior. HOUSE OF THE CONTE DEL VALLE DE SÚCHIL (DURANGO) Durango is home to the Casa del Conde del Valle de Súchil, a splendid colonial house, worthy representation of Mexican colonial architecture. Undoubtedly this is the most splendid colonial house in the region, due to the layout of its facade and the beauty of the cover and interiors. It belonged to the rich miner and landowner Joseph del Campo Soberón y Larrea, Count of the Súchil Valley, who ordered it to be built between the years of 1763 and 1764. Its builder was a master teacher named Pedro de Huertas, who endowed the house with an excellent facade and interiors of magnificent baroque style dotted with many reasons of Rococo taste. They emphasize its facade of two bodies arranged in ochavo, and the elegant decoration of the second body, with stony pilasters decorated profusely with vegetal motifs that seem to finish off in the niche where the sculpture of San José with the Child is found. Inside, the magnificent low arches of the patio are surprising, with columns and arches decorated with zigzag striations that contrast with the simplicity of the upper part.

La entrada es gratuita y te dan folletos de las exposiciones. Appreciating every detail of this baroque-style building is worth it. They do not allow taking photos on the second floor for bank security. Admission is free and they give you brochures of the exhibitions.
