This was a beautiful villa! Great views, beautiful architecture, sophisticated decor with Mexican overtones, very comfortable beds and great bathrooms. The kitchen was well equipped with a washer and dry and ironing facilities. Lots of pool and beach towels and umbrellas if required. Every detail is thought about. The staff - Montse who cleaned the villa and made us so welcome, is a real asset to this villa. She works incredibly hard, is so courteous and helpful but also respectful and discreet - she keeps the villa spotlessly clean and always helped us with advice about the area - thank you Montse! Marta came in to cook meals for us in the evenings when we wanted and breakfasts, which was great and we used her frequently. She cooked what we wanted and we were never disappointed, another asset to the villa, again she was warm, and discreet and lovely. Finally, Martin the Gardner and pool maintenance man and general cleaner of the outside areas, was quite and charming and if anything mechanical was needed to be fixed it got done immediately. These three people made this an incredible place to holiday, I cannot speak highly enough of them - but Montse who worked incredibly hard all the time was superhuman! We loved the pool, and we swam most days and nights! The proximity of the villa, in the centre of town, ended up a bonus because we were near to the action (New Year at Casa Kimberly in the Iguana restaurant and then walking down to the Malacon to see the New Year in, was one of our best ever New Year experiences - brilliant!). We could walk to the beach in a few minutes and also swam in the sea frequently which was gorgeous. We took an amazing private ATV tour with Xiutla Riders into the Sierra Madre hills, also a scuba diving trip with PVOceanTours -both amazing. Vallarta Adventures provided excitement with their professionally organised Xtreme zip wire tour and entertainment on New Years Eve with the beautifully choreographed Rhythms of the Night (which our elder children went to with friends) in a magical beach setting. Both were enjoyable, although we would caveat this, with the volume of people from the cruise ships means the Vallarta Adventures can take time involving lots of people. Among the highlights were days out on a private motor boat with Captain and mate hired from Yates Vallarta - watching whales (father, mother and baby playing) watching three separate Whale families, huge manta rays on the surface of the ocean (at least ten feet across was incredible) dolphins of different types, playing and eating together was an absolute joy as the tiny baby dolphins jumped into the air, also flying fish and watching birds dive into the sea grabbing fish whilst the Frigate birds tried to steal their catch and snorkelling in the amazingly warm waters of isolated coves where the forest falls to the waters edge (and no jelly fish!). We also went to The Kliff restaurant just to the south of Puerto Vallarta, with breathtaking views and excellent food! Next to that restaurant is a place we visited by boat where we went to have lunch on our last day on the boat, it cannot be reached by road - was great, more simple fare but delicious - oysters, clams, prawns etc and hamburgers. We also ate at the wonderful restaurants :- Cafe des Artistes, Iguana restaurant, Hacienda Angel and La Capella stunning restaurants with delicious well presented food. Si Sinore the restaurant next door to the villa was great and also delivered food late at night if our children came in later! Mariachi were at two of these restaurants and the others has violins -we were completely in awe of what was on offer. We hired a car for four days of our two week stay and visited Careyes, San Sebastián and Sayulita. Do not miss out on the Botanical gardens, book a private tour, it is worth the experience and have lunch there! This villa is in the right position and is a place one will not want to leave. Thank you to the owners and staff, it was an oasis, utterly magical! This is a place for adults we were a family of four we would return!
