★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Small museum close to the central plaza at Chignahuapan but a great collection of axolotls of all types and colours and ages. It was a revelation that they can live for 16 years! The entry fee of 30 per adult and 25 per child was very reasonable. One gets a guided tour through the exhibit of 9 tanks , we got lucky to get an English speaking guide. Apart from this, the museum has some old pictures of Chignahuapan, some artifacts from the last century, a cafe and a souvenir shop. Highly recommended to pay a bisit if passing through Chignahuapan!
