Casa Destino Mexico Vacation Apartments - 97320 Progreso

We have been staying here for a few years now and it’s always been a pleasure!

Advertised on their own website as a "PET FREE PROPERTY" but we arrived for 6 weeks to find out there were TWO barking DOGS living on the property. The website is Casa Destino Mexico. They have recently changed their website but they lied to us, we have the originals if you're interested. See our reviews on Tripadvisor. During our second week my wife woke up with something sticking in her cheek, found 3 pins in her pillow. No windows or reading lamps in the living area. Plastic outdoor furniture as our dining room table. Advertised satellite tv and cable tv...we got one channel but the owner told us we could steal the last guest's Netflix. No a/c, no windows except one in the bedroom that opened to the common area. We entered through a storage room full of old tiles and crates and bikes. The toilet broke, the ice maker broke. It was NO VACATION.

We were lied to. We booked a "PET FREE PROPERTY" for 6 weeks (as advertised by Casa Destino Mexico on their website which has since been changed but we have the original) only to find TWO dogs, two barking dogs living on the property. It stated on Casa Destino Mexico website that we would enter through a "Breezeway", turns out it was a STORAGE ROOM full of old tiles and old bikes and old shipping crates. We needed to lock and unlock 2 doors with 2 different keys. In our second week I awoke with a pin sticking in my cheek very close to my eye...then I found TWO MORE PINS in my PILLOW!!! We were lied to and the owners agreed that we were lied to but did not offer any reimbursement. They knew the dogs were a problem but still let them out into the common area with it's broken furniture and the other guests. We had plastic outdoor furniture as our "dining table". They advertised english satellite tv and cable but we had one spanish cartoon channel. The owners told us we could steal the last guest's Netflix!!! The entire 6 weeks was like living in a jail cell with no windows or a/c in the living area. There was a very loud, obnoxious clicking sound from the fridge though. Consider yourself warned...stay away from the CASITA FOR SURE!!!

Great location. Close to everything that you could want. Excellent property, well equipped, well maintained and fully functional. Pool is super comfortable. Padded outdoor furniture. Strong WIFI. Smart TV. Water provided.

Fabulous location, IMPECCABLY clean, warm and welcoming hosts (including the sweetest pups ever), huge almost private pool which is also super clean (the hosts don't use it, and there's only 3 rentals!). I loved it so much I stayed there twice and extended my stay both times. Didn't need a car, and a couple of times Pamela offered to bring me along when she went for groceries. I could see the Gulf from the studio balcony, and walk 1/2 a block to the beach. Very importantly, excellent WiFi... I had multiple long Zoom calls on my stay without issues. Highly recommend!
