We were taken to this incredible artisan workshop by a tour guide in Oaxaca and were impressed with the quality of the fine rugs and weavings made with natural dyes. Recommend highly.

This is the best place to visit in this village. They teach you everything about how the dye is made, what their process is for dying the skeins, how they harvest the cochineal bugs to make red dye, everything! A family run business, pictured here is the mother prepping cochineal. I watched the father weaving on the loom and decided to buy the one he was working on. Just visiting here was like a workshop in itself.

We came here two years ago and had a wonderful time learning about the amazing craftsmanship, history and culture that goes into creating these beautiful textiles. Our young sons (6 and 4 at the time) had a great time learning about the process and trying out one of the large looms. Juan Carlos was the best.

This place is worth a visit - even if you don't buy a rug, wall piece, pillow cover, towel, or purse! Why? You will get a crash course on how they convert wool, alpaca, or merino into yarn, then the whole dye-ing process, then the weaving/looming process! Lastly, they'll explain what the designs/patterns means. All you gotta do sit back, relax, and record for Tik Tok/IG purposes. OH, also decide on what to purchase - their work(s) are so good! And if that wasn't enough they'll give you a card detailing the who, what, when, and where of it all - flexing on your friends and family can't be any easier. Let's Connect, Be sure to check out @Brazilsontour (IG)

This was an amazing experience. The wool is carded, spun and dyed by hand. All the dyes are natural materials and colors are stunning. Our guide arranged for them to explain the whole process and they patiently walked us through it. The rugs are truly beautiful works of art.

We think this workshop is among the best in the area. The family is super friendly and even more talented. The weaving process presentation was excellent and our maestro spoke excellent English. We purchased some gorgeous rugs at fair prices.

Wonderful demonstration of how these beautiful rugs are made. They use completely natural dyes, which are not only so much better for the environment, but are the traditional way of production. The quality is also exceptional. Thank you for a lovely morning!
