★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Casa Freda was the perfect location to stay during our visit to Oaxaca for the 2019 Guelaguetza. The B&B is located at the bottom of the steps leading up to the Auditorio Guelaguetza and only a few minutes walk to downtown. Frida and her mother Yolanda were excellent hosts. Frida help coordinate transportation for several excursions while Yolanda was always available to greet us upon our returns. The breakfasts that Yolanda prepared every morning never disappointing. We felt very welcomed at Casa Freda and always felt safe. If you don't want to do the typical hotels, Casa Freda is the way to go.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Frida, Yolanda and Tere are amazing and accomodating hosts. Case Frida is super clean and comfortable. We loved the location (very close to everything but just far enough out of Centro to feel private) we loved the terrace (great place to watch thunderstorms and pet the sweet resident cats that live up there (Nicolas y Julia). The breakfast is lovely, I especially liked the fruit and the churros they buy from a local baker. The only caution I'd give is that if noise bothers you, bring earplugs. The owner's dogs bark sometimes.
