★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Originally we planned to arrive on a Saturday but our flight plans were changed meaning we had to arrive a day early. After informing Angel, he did the best he could to accommodate us and although we could not stay in the same room because of the last minute change, he gave us all a place to stay for that night which I am thankful for. Now, the room we had originally booked for this place (MONTHS in advance as in January) was actually not ready for 3 days after arriving. So if we had arrived on Saturday, we wouldn’t have had our originally booked room regardless which to me was not okay. We spent the next 3 nights moving back and forth room to room wondering when we would have the room we had paid for in January. After 4 days, we were finally moved into our room. As excited as we were to finally settle down, it was not what was promised to us. The shower did not drain properly/flooded AND did not have hot water. The bathroom door did not close at all so there was no privacy. There was also another persons luggage and belongings In one of our closet spaces as well which was weird to me. Even though we knew this was not a hotel and had shared spaces, it was still not what was promised to us at all. There were cats roaming around as well which for me is no problem, but for my mom who is allergic it was definitely not ok. If you do not keep your door closed they will come running right in under your bed.
This is a nice place for a YOUNG couple on a budget for travel, but NOT for a family of 3. Or families in general.
I also watched a young couple arrive to Casa Hidalgo at 7am and did not actually get their room until past NOON because Angel was no where to be found.
This is still a very new business for them, 2 years, and it is apparent that they are still getting the hang of things so it is unorganized to say the least.
Again, I recommend this to any young couple who loves connecting with other travelers and are not high maintenance. But I DO NOT recommend this to any sort of family or person who is looking for some “quiet time”.
We ended up cutting our week long stay short and decided on staying at an Airbnb in the same area for a cheaper price with way more privacy.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wow...so incredibly accommodating. At one point the host noticed that my door was not closing properly (I didn't even raise this as a point of concern), and he changed the door handle early the next day. We were leaving our coats on the chair in our room as we went out hiking and when I returned the 3rd day, our cuts were hung neatly on a coat hanger installed on the far wall while we were gone. This was just the nicest experience and we will absolutely be staying here again during our inevitable return. Cannot recommend enough.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wonderful experience. This guest house is a gem in the heart of Coyoacán. Quiet street, but only 5 minutes walk to the plaza and restaurants. Very cozy, simple furnishings, but very clean and new. Excellent common area kitchen with storage if needed. Highly recommend and plan to return.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stayed there for 5 days March 27 to April 1st. Pros- It's clean, nicely furnished, plenty of rooms. Has about everything you need and a beautiful roof space. There's a little store and an awesome vintage toy store on the same block. Cons- 4 levels, lots of stairs. Bed bugs in the second level bedrooms. The 3rd and 1st level bedrooms did not have any.
