Excelente lugar para estancias largas, es una casa muy bonita con espacios muy amplios y cómodos. Si vas en temporada de lluvias el acceso a la casa será complicado y solo con un taxi todo terreno podrás llegar (200mxn por trayecto). Caminar a la playa para llegar al centro puede ser una opción y te tomará unos 20 minutos, la playa de punta cocos está muy cerca y es una buena opción aislada del resto. Emma y su familia viven en la parte de abajo de la casa y están siempre a la orden de lo que necesites, la limpieza se hace diario y la casa siempre está en perfecto estado. Ojo qué esta casa es parte de una cadena hotelera así que el trato y las tarifas las controlan ellos. Es una casa hermosa pero poco funcional en un nivel de practicidad para la vida diaria, fue pensada, diseñada y construida para verse bien. El Internet es satelital y de muy baja velocidad, menos de 5mb de bajada y menos de 1mb de subida, podrás tomar llamadas de Zoom sin video y trabajar con mail y páginas web qué usen puro texto, ni pensar en descargar videos ni YouTube, totalmente comprensible pero el hotel debería pagar un servicio de mayor velocidad para lo que cobran por noche, sugiero incluso implementar una red mesh ya qué solo hay dos routers muy viejos y poco fiables y el wifi se corta ya qué las paredes son de material muy grueso, hay zonas de la casa sin cobertura lo cual considero fatal para el nivel con el que se anuncia este alojamiento. Espero mi reseña sea útil y honesta para quien visita la hermosa isla de holbox

HM Casa Del Mar on Isla Holbox looks really nice on the pictures but HM ‘forgets’ to let you know that the house is powered by a large generator. The generator produces a lot of low tone high volume sound which vibrates throughout the house. The generator is installed underneath two sleeping area’s which makes them unable to sleep with the generator on. (See photo’s). You can compare the areas around the house and sleeping area’s with a busy bus station where all busses are run by diesel engines. With the construction of the house it doesnt really matter if you are inside or outside. Nothing else on the island is powered by individual generators, there is normal electricity over the cable however HM said they have an issue with the powersupplier so they installed the generator. Jedier (the local host) gave us after check-in the following options: switch off the loud generator but you’ll lose all electricity, airconditioning units, running (warm)water, toilet, fridge & freezer et cetera or leave it on and/or basically get used to it on your ‘relaxing’ holiday. After a horrible night and getting really stressed about the continuous sound we asked Jedier to move to another place. HM has multiple hotels on Isla Holbox, but unfortunately they had nothing available. We traveled with three families so we requested 3 separated rooms like the house however he was only willing to offer us two rooms to share. Their cancelation policy was not an option since we already checked in. We felt stuck. After a lot of e-mails back and forth with the HM team they didn’t leave us satisfied with this issue and didn’t seem to understand that you have to share this crucial information beforehand. Their offer was around 15% compensation for the three nights total. Hopefully with this review you’ll have a better insight in what this villa really has to offer you. Hopefully you are still able to cancel or at least not book this house till this 30kw generator is removed. -Its been a few weeks since we stayed there and there is still no information on their website about the large generator.
