★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent food. Would have given another star but ordered a Spanish coffee and winter said no too early. It was 7 PM. Customer should be allowed to order when they want it. Would still get the effect but perhaps not as clear as 10 PM.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We have stayed at a private villa next to Casa Isabel for several years, and were disappointed the last two times esting dinner here. The view is incredible, but the menu is kind of lame American (but decent), and the margaritas are subpar. The musicians, bless their hearts, do very typical 70's American hits for tourists (we hear it every night from the villa). But, we go once every trip anyway because it sits a little higher than the villa, so the view is more expansive and lovely.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolutely wonderful experience. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The food was well prepared and delicious. The views of the bay and downtown Puerto Vallarta were breath taking. All this for fair and reasonable prices.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 6 of us went to supper and 5 of us had a meal that was definitely not the quality it should have been. 4 people had the Catch of the Day and it was very dry and tasteless. Seemed to have been prepared in advance and left to keep warm. Even the risotto was dry and looked like plain white rice. 1 person had the pork chop which was also overdone, dry, and tough.
We have been here several times in the past and the food was always good, but this experience left us very underwhelmed.
Jorge, who made our Spanish coffee, was the shining star of the evening

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Margaritas were made to perfection. Enjoyed our calamari and our supper (Mahi Mahi and coconut shrimp). Watched the dolphins playing in the ocean and caught another colourful sunset. Cannot beat the view, the food was good and the drinks even better. Worth the hike up the hill to reach this place. Definitely a nice romantic area.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We visited the restaurant in the 2nd week of April. We are not terribly picky eaters and often give the benefit of the doubt. However we experienced pros and cons worth noting. First the cons: calamari was over cooked although tasty. 3 of us order the surf and turf and found the prawns over cooked (this results in chewy prawns). We also all agreed the steak was lacking in flavour. It was a first for me to add salt to my food especially the steak. However, the steaks were cooked to our request. The 4th order was the chicken breast and it was chewy (again over cooked) however it was very flavourful. The pros: of course the views are spectacular and offer such a great sunset experience. The service is top notch and we enjoyed our server. They also had music which was lovely. The soup was cream of cauliflower and I can state it was in the top 5 best I’ve had. So very good. The fancy coffee (complete with flames) was top notch and our server gave an incredible show - the restaurant applauded. I am hopeful this review will provide good feedback for the restaurant/chef so they can make improvements as they have the opportunity to be exceptional.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We have been to Casa Isabel before and just adored it … In the past, the scenery and food were amazing but this time, we were extremely disappointed in everything that happened.
We had a reservation but our reservation table along the front railing was not available despite a confirmation of such Second, a group who came after us were seated along the railing and then another group were moved from the side to the front railing… both groups who came after us and as it turns out had made reservations after us also (we had made a reservation 10 days in advance). We were told reason they got that table was because they bought a drink at the bar. This was just the start of our experience.
From there, it went downhill. The bottle of wine we ordered had very clearly turned and was horrible. The meals were cold and the some vegetables such as the asparagus were burnt and extremely tiny (something that never should have been served).
Over the course of the evening the wait staff basically ignored us and only responded when flagged down.
Overall, this was a very disappointing experience and I would not recommend it to anyone. Spend your money elsewhere!
