The atmosphere, very peaceful, best getaway... a must if you’re in Sayulita, like the word didn’t exist.

Great resort and views. Difficult access. Amazing views. Service has a lot of room for improvement. Very slow food service and very limited food options

Itzamara is the epitome of relaxation! Absolutely STUNNING scenery with ocean views, beautiful decor in the villas, each with its own unique charm and custom pieces. Outstanding food prepared by chef Héctor, his chile quiles are beyond compare! And he made us delicious gluten free French toast with bread we bought at the Friday farmer’s market ? Ignacio and the staff provided stellar customer service, and our rooms looked sparkling clean each day. It’s all tucked away in the lush jungle, (renting an SUV is a good idea and you can also take cabs), with only a 15-20 minute drive into Sayulita when you want some excitement, shopping or more delicious food. Itzamara is a safe haven to disconnect and recharge. You can do yoga or workout on the main deck or your private patio, and there is a gorgeous private beach just a 10 minute walk away, hiking back up the hill is good exercise, and Nutella the resort dog will keep you company! There is an awesome zip line just around the corner, and you can hire a boat to go whale watching or check out the Marietas islands, and Sayulita has great surfing lessons. This resort is the perfect combination of luxury zen with excitement just around the corner. Me encantó.

Very beautiful and relaxing place overseeing the Pátzcuaro jungle and beach with a very down to earth concept making this place feel in tune with nature and not like a traditional hotel giving it that extra welcoming feel. Lovely pool illuminated at night mimicking stars looks fabulous and not to mention their restaurant has very delicious food and the best attitude in their employees that make you feel like you belong their. Highly recommend it!

Very disappointing and a bit amateur in terms of service. Our reservation (done one month in advance) was not registered when we arrived so nothing was ready, there was almost no food in the hotel and everything was mostly improvised on the spot during our whole stay. Very difficult access, they did not pick up the phone when we tried to call for indications on how to arrive so we were lost for a good while. However the staff is very polite and kind, they tried to do their best once we were there. Amazing views and great location, beautiful scenery which made up a little for the so-so service. It’s too expensive for the quality of service they provide. There is a lot of room for improvement.

Amazing scenery, and one of a kind location! Rooms are very exotic with beautiful views, but can be for some too “natural” (if it is windy, be ready to potentially have your suitcase covered in some dust coming from the roof if you have a palm roof) Service is unfortunately very slow and serving hours are quite limited. Access is challenging but makes the beauty of the site. A very relaxing hotel for a disconnecting stay!

Casa Itzamara is the location of a retreat I gave myself for my birthday. It was amazing. I went because I was burned out after two years of the pandemic - having two jobs, being a parent, trying to be a wife, a friend, a neighbor - I lost the habits of “healthy human.” ReSet Intensive by Lucy and Aaron’s RePrecision was JUST what I needed to pause, reflect, and then kick start my healthy habits again. I understand that this location was a boutique hotel prior to being a retreat site, I don’t know it as a boutique hotel - though I cannot speak the retreat’s praises loud enough! We had a house chef, most compassionate support team, and most humble and helpful house staff. I have it in my mind to return every year as self-care maintenance to come back home/work refreshed. All the love and good things!
