Casa Itzia - 97000 Mérida

We are so impressed with this romantic oasis in the heart of Mérida. Everything is exactly like the pictures, and the courtyard pool is incredibly private (no swimsuit necessary?). There was also a large supply of filtered water that made it easy to begin our vacation. The location is ideal; walking distance to almost everything, but in a quiet residential neighborhood without much noise at night. Within 3-4 blocks there are several good restaurants, and the best supermarket in the city is only a 15 minute walk away. It's only 200MX for a taxi from the airport, and Uber to almost anywhere in the city is 60 pesos or less. The house is spacious and modern, with elements of a traditional Yucatán home. A few hammocks, new appliances, air conditioning in bedrooms, and an incredible mattress. The guest house is very pretty, but we haven't slept there as we are a couple. The internet is very good most of the time, and we are both working remotely without any issues. It can be slightly slower in the middle of the day, but still usually faster speeds than my apartment in Canada. The host is lovely! Maythe Maria responds to questions very quickly. She knows the best restaurants in town (you must try Maiz, Canela y Cilantro). When we had a small problem unrelated to the property, she was kind and knew just what to do. Overall, this rental is exactly what we wanted. The only suggestion we have is to add a small table in the courtyard for drinks.
