Casa Janaab Palenque - 29960 Palenque

Wouldn't stay here again. First day was in another hotel because on arrival they told me there was fumigation. The other hotel, I was sharing in a family room, with 1 key and 2 random guys - it was just kinda weird. 1st morning in the actual hostel their staff member's using a leaf blower makin all sorts a loud noise at 745 in the morning. Like, what? Nobody's that uneducated, come on. Wifi not the best. And I'm in a top bunk, a little bit under a wall where my head is supposed to go lol.

Nice well-appointed and professionally-run hostel. Unfortunately the aircon was broken throughout on the night I booked and the dorms had no fans. They put us up in private rooms, which was nice, but still hot until well after midnight. Nice place, though.

Good hostel with friendly staff. However, this was the first time I was charged at any place to refill my water bottle (5 pesos per litre), and I was a bit confused by their laundry prices. You pay per kilo (18 pesos), and apparently have to was your clothes yourself even. And, you’re not supposed to hang them at certain places; for the dryer they charge another 12 pesos per kilo. Better go to Lavanderia Megaclean which is about five minutes walking away; they charge 25 pesos for the full service. Nevertheless, a nice hotel which I would choose again. My room was very clean, the bed was comfortable, and the aircon worked well.

Little pricey but a really good hostel. Nice communal area.

PROs Excellent location, - 4 min walk from ado bus station/collectivos - 6 mins walk to oxxo(s) - 3 min walk to surrounding restaurants/cafes - 10 mins walk to bank BBVA - 8 min walk to Telcel - Friendly staff n reception - Cleaning staff was great, always changed my dorm bed and towel for next day - Free soap/shampoo - Free towel - Free laundry service on first request - They gave Restaurant coupon vouchers 20% off - Rooms have AC - Has kitchen and shared fridge to store waters - Plenty of showers and toilets. - Really hot showers - Reliable WIFI - Can buy tour services at reception, can pay for laundry services at reception, very convenient Great value for benefits overall. Really impressed by this place to be honest, for all the service compared to what I was paying, compared to other hostels i stayed in mexico, this one ranks up there. Ilsia, Vanessa, and Victor provided very excellent service in their capacity as reception. Thank you!

Nice hostel but only giving guests 1L of water for free and then charging them a feee if after checkout they want to use the toilets and sit down is ridiculous

A pretty place in Palenque, nearby the main bus station. It’s quite expensive & honestly I wouldn’t say much worth the money. Staff is not much welcoming: I arrived sweating after a long walk and, as I entered the place to check-in, the receptionist was only able to plainly say “put your mask on”. Honestly anything else would have sounded better. Facilities are however clean and the kitchen is well equipped (even though a bit too small considering how many people the place can host). Wifi is fast.
