★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Google may be a little confused. The place is definitely not closed. It is located in the quiet neighborhood of Jalatlaco. Just to the east of Llano Park. Not where it is shown on the Google Map. And it is a wonderful bed and breakfast, not a casa de cambio.
If I could give this place 10 stars, I would do so. It is wonderful. Having stayed there many times over the past few years, I was saddened a few years back when I heard that they had closed due to a downturn in tourism to Oaxaca (still my favorite destination in all of Mexico). But recently, I learned that they had re-opened. However, be sure that when you look on the Google map, the location is in Jalatlaco, just off Republica and near Constitucion. As noted above, the Google map location indicates the wrong location for Casa Lidia.
I would like to take some time to give you the long story on why I love this place so much.
I used to stay at the Hotel Trebol which is reasonably priced and is, like, right across from the Mercado Juarez. But on one trip, that was more summer time, I discovered that the daytime solar heat was absorbed by the walls and roof and radiated out at night making the room like an oven. It was impossible to sleep in my room. I had some time and started exploring the town to look for an alternative. And that is how I came across Casa Lidia.
Casa Lidia is located in an area of the city called Jalatlaco, and is definitely within an acceptable walking distance to the San Domingo church and downtown.
Since I consider (and love it for this reason) Oaxaca a walking town, this is not a problem. In exchange, I get a super peaceful, super quiet neighborhood with no car noise at night. Plus, I get a laundry/washateria like less than a block away that I can leave my clothes in the morning and pick them up in the evening.
Casa Lidia has no markings on the outside (for security). Your taxi driver, the first day will need to know this. It looks just like a home with a garage door. Very secure. Once you walk in, there are rooms and a small courtyard. The persons who operate it are the offspring of the more well known Posada Chencho, another option in Oaxaca.
Now, let's get to breakfast. Each morning you will be served a breakfast representing one of the regional specialties of Oaxaca. One morning it may be tomatadas, or enchiladas, or tamales, with coffee, fruit, bread, etc. Delicious and one of the high points of the stay. On Sunday, I have had a special regional tamal there from Xoxocotlan (mole chichilo) that is amazing. I have posted photos of the breakfasts here for you to review.
The staff, whom I have gotten to know over the years is terrific. Antonio and Flor.
The beds are comfortable.
The shower works great. Hot water. Really hot water.
It is close to a major intersection where you can grab buses to other parts of the city.
The only trick will be on your first day of arrival since there are no markings on the door for security and privacy (a plus).
Contact is by email. And....I am pleased to note that they now have an airbnb presence and also a Facebook presence! But I would recommend email to confirm best pricing.
A few years back my wife and I, friends from Houston, friends from Mexico City, and friends from Salt Lake City stage a reunion where we all arrived within a day of each other at Casa Lidia and took over the rooms for a week, with parties and a daily happy hour, and I had the opportunity to introduce them to Oaxaca and play tour guide for the group.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I liked it minus having to knock on the metal front door every time we got back to the house. I understand it's for security, but I don't care to check-in every time. Decent breakfast included. 20 minute walk to town. Nice and quiet. Very clean.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is the kind of place you want to return to. Very private, peaceful and extremely well-kept. Lovely, personal service by everyone who works here. Their Jalatlaco location is perfect for enjoying one of Oaxaca's best neighborhoods!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My wife and I stayed here for 3 days and have no regrets. Rooms were clean and comfortable and wifi was generally good. No A/C but fan did the trick. Bathroom had the essentials except for shelf space which is typical for Mexican B&Bs. Great breakfasts and attentive staff (especially Dahlia!). 10-20min walk to key sites and restaurants. No TV if that matters. We would stay here again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Loved our 3-night stay here. Location was perfect for us: 15 min walk to main downtown areas and we felt safe walking as a couple at night. It's in a quiet neighborhood. Clean place, enough space to spend the day out and the night in. Internet worked well our entire stay. Staff were helpful arranging arrivals and taxis for departure. One staff member was mostly fluent in English. Could have used more instruction on the breakfast situation (for us, it was 8-10am, arrive in dining room, and say yay or nay to the option of the day from the kitchen staff, or select from staples like sweetbread). Fan in room made for a comfortable temperature during our February stay.
