★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Yikes! No thanks. We couldn't get access as there was no one there to greet us. We were forced to find emergency accommodations on the spot. You can imagine a long travel day and finding yourself stranded. I feel a hotelier has a responsibility to provide the most basic service... you know... like having someone at the place to let you in?!? They also failed to meet us at the airport as promised and didn't respond to any of our texts, phone calls, or emails... not once. We got someone on the phone (a number we got from the website) and the lady told us she is a former employee and doesn't work there anymore. Stranded!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I stayed here for about a week and a few days until I was asked to leave. If not I think I could have stayed permanently. Before the untimely departure everything here is paradise. The communal kitchen is so convenient. Oh and what a view! This place is in my opinion the best location in Sayulita. Even though this place is close to downtown you can't hear the night life. Everyone I met during my stay here at Love have been some of the nicest people. The decor of this place is so original and artistic. I kept thinking if this was a permanent Burning Man. I stayed here 2020 during the covid paranoia. Fortunately no one in town had succumb to the paranoia! Everything was open all bars, restaurants, night clubs etc... In contrast to where I am originally from, Los Angeles, where everything was on lockdown. All I can say is if you are planning on going to Sayulita this boutique hotel is a very good choice. Oh forgot to mention they have communal surfboards skateboards etc...so cool.
Now for why I was asked to leave? Let's just say I fell a little to far into the burning man experience. I met some fellow Americans on vacation and invited them over. Big mistake! Apparently a half block away you can purchase meth, coke, weed etc. these individuals thought it would be ok to snort coke on the communal dinning table. NOT COOL! Apologies to the community.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Unfortunately it seems there was an overbooking when I had booked my room on the same day through Booking. A pity as I was really looking forward to my stay here. The location next to the ocean, the vibe, and the views, all look like a major plus. First, the Casa is a bit hard to find in the busy street, there are no signs of a name; I had to ask someone. Just pay attention to the big heart painted on the door.
Second, it's a door with a key lock pad so no personal welcome or reception, something I am not keen on, especially after a long day of travelling. Luckily a guest who just wanted to enter the Casa showed me the way to the store next door which is apparently kind of connected to the hotel, but the employees there were not eligible to check in. I tried to contact and call the owner Andrea several times but no response that time. Then suddenly, a lady showed up with a very rude and poor attitude, I first thought she was Andrea, but apparently it was someone who pretended or acted that she owns the place. She first did not believe I had made a reservation, I even showed her my confirmation on my phone, told her the room was already paid through Booking at a discount price (which she even could not believe!), and still it was very hard to convince her. And then she told me there were constructions going on and there was no room available! When I told her again I had booked and paid for a room at the Casa, and never had any problems before with the booking website, she finally told me 'she was going to take care of it while I should take a 'cerveza' somewhere in the neighborhood'. At least it's not the kind of welcoming you expect, and especially when you have already a paid confirmation.
I give one star to the real manager Andrea, whom I was finally able to speak to on the phone, and she seems nice: she apologized for the misunderstanding and even offered alternative suggestions for a last minute stay. I finally ended up in another hotel. Probably I would have given Casa Love more stars if I would have been able to stay there.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A robbery of eco-tourism
Behind the title of eco hotel, hides a scam for visitors, as they give a very high price for what they offer:
* On arrival you have to take off your shoes, which for us is not a problem, the problem is that the floor is dirty and you end up with dirty feet just walking from your room to the entrance.
* The room was also dirty, full of sand/dust on the floor that stuck to the feet...
* The sheets had holes in them like cigarette burns.
* In the bathroom the shower did not work well, and was full of scale, in their hotel specifications they say that they do not give shampoo in plastic bottles to avoid plastic waste which seems fantastic to me but they should put solid shampoos and soaps to provide the minimum service to their guests.
* First night, at 4:30 am, guests from the cabin above us (we were in the ocean cabin)arrived listening music and talking really loud
- After a while we had to go out and ask gently to be a bit quiet.
- The day after, we learn that the loud guest is no one else than the hotel owner which seemed to us a joke.
This place has as a great potential as it is well located and nice style but there are too many points to improve reflecting a big gap between price and promesses.
A night is not worth it.
