★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A really good hostel in the best location, just 150m from the gorgeous Jardin de la Union. Good beds, quiet at night, showers are a bit odd but had hot water, free continental brekkie (with eggs for 5 pesos each), good kitchen, good staff. The last 50m to the hostel is up a small hill, so it's a bit tricky with a suitcase.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Casa Lupita is a lovely house, beautifully decorated. I had the dorm for myself, due to the low occupation at the moment, which was really nice. The water in the shower could be warmer and the room gets really chilly at night, but it's nothing you could not handle with an extra blanket that they provide. The hostel is kept clean and follows all covid sanitary measures. Staff was nice and gave me several suggestions about what to do and where to go in Guanajuato. Recommended

outrageous service.?
We booked a room the night before through the phone. But when we came the same guy that we spoke to yesterday told us he gave our beds for someone else with no good reason and no heads up.
He even explained we needed to give him a deposit so he would save our room but didn't ask for one when we did the reservation!!!!
Shame on you, sending us at 17 pm to wonder the streets with our language to look for a simple bed.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I stayed here four nights and found it quite lovely. I had a large private room with bathroom to myself for a great value. It's very clean and quiet. Dante the manager is very nice and professional and was able to help me with quite a few things such as recommendations and even having my laundry cleaned.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Quiet hostel with one dormitory and a couple of private rooms. There is a well equiped kitchen but breakfast is not included. It's not the most social hostel where you'll meet a lot of people but is perfect for a group of friends who want a taste of the typical nightlife of Guanajuato.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Location is great, and the place itself is quite comfortable and really clean. The best part is the kitchen that has all you need. They provide also some cereals, tea, and coffee for breakfast. There is a terrible and constant pee smell in the common area, due to the dogs living upstairs. Also our room was very noisy during the night due to a small alley and the room separated by a small door. Take earplugs. It was also dark and humid with no window. No constant hot water.

The only weird thing is that you can't leave your luggage after checkout unless you want to pay 100 pesos. And this is common it seems in Guanajuato since I ran into another hostal there that did the same. 4.5 stars
