Casa Mauna - Suites & Breakfasts - 70902 Salchi

We didn't stay there but just went to eat there. The restaurant is by the pool side but they make you spend 350 pesos minimum per person if you want to use the pool. That is absurd. Anyhow, the food was just ok, It was too bland for me. There was hair in one of my snacks, and when I showed it to staff they didn't even have the courtesy to not charge me for that dish. Positives: the mojito and Margaritas both were very well made with quality ingredients.

This is such a great place to stay at. You can see the beach from here and it’s so beautiful. We aren’t vegan so we weren’t planning on getting any food but we got some drinks and decided to try some food. Those drinks were the best we had in Huatulco and the food was amazing. It had so much flavor and you could taste how fresh it was. So glad we decided to try it.

True Paradise I cannot thank the team at Casa Mauna enough for making this such a sweet and pleasant experience for myself and my friends. We had so much fun! There is a plant based restaurant downstairs by the pool, which was a pleasant surprise because I’m vegan! My friends who are not vegan loved the lasagna and the cheesecake! I ordered the samosas and the traditional soup. They are so creative let me tell you, it was delicious! The pool is so relaxing and overlooks the ocean nearby! As for the rooms, the owner really put a lot of thought into building these minimalistic suites. Everything was very thought out. It was very modern and felt like a European loft. The bed was comfortable and so was the couch, which can fold into an extra bed. My favorite was the bathroom, with very hot water! The beach is about a 5 minute walk down, with a paved trail. The beach was also so beautiful, and we enjoyed a nice walk playing in the sand. I could go on all days about how special this experience was, but you’ll have to see for yourself! The road is now fixed and only the last 1km is dirt road but is easily passable In a small car. This is a really nice location and places to stay with good WiFi, kitchen, and large balcony on every room. I would have given 5* however at checking they took a photo on my passport and then sent in to a WhatsApp group. When I asked why they said it was policy but could not show me that policy in there T&C nor anywhere else. Sending personal data to a WhatsApp group full of random people is not ok.

English/Spanish Hidden away from the civilization place. If you need time off to relax it is a perfect place to do so. Located in the middle of the nature, next to ocean with strong waves that can easily put you to sleep. People working here are incredibly friendly and make you feel at home immediately. If you prefer to cook, you can do so as rooms are equip to do so, but I would highly recommend to try in-house restaurant - you will be more surprised than you could imagine with the food quality, it’s flavors and taste. I could not imagine began food being so delicious! Breakfasts were out of this world. Test of the menu as well! Very recommend to try the cheakpeas omelette, French toast and the burger. You won’t be disappointed. On the lower side: poo need some TLC One minus could be the beach - is you are coming for a relaxing swim with kids - this is not a beach for you. Waves are very strong and powerful even for a strong swimmer.

Great boutique hotel to relax and enjoy your holiday’s. The owners put so much love into all details and the vegan food is fantastic. Highly recommended if you are looking for a modern, stylish but still very authentic place. Thanks Ewen for having us as your guests.

Loved this place. Highly recommended if you are looking for peace, nature, vegan food, responsible tourism, empty beaches. So magic and relaxing, allows perfect sleep quality. Friendly owner and staff. Recommended to have a car. Otherwise there are Taxis. Thanks!

I never write any reviews, but it has been 4 months since we stayed here with our little family (for almost 2 weeks!!) and I still miss the food. ? And of course also the beach, the pool, the super comfy, lovely apartment, cocktails and the incredible surrounding. I’m not sure if I’ll have the chance to come back, but if I could I would. And of course I highly recommend to anyone travelling towards this area. Thank you so much for this very needed break from reality!!
