We stayed in Casa de la Montaña during the first part of the quarantine for the pandemic COVID19. This is the most applicable place for staying during a long during quarantine in Oaxaca, or Mexico for that matter. Since then, we have been in a lot of different other places in Puebla and Veracruz and this place and it's owner is by far the best! We were staying in a room but during the day, most times we were in the shared kitchen on top to get our share of fresh air. So we were able to be outside and still being safe, with a lot of space. The room was good, enough space and ways to sit down on the desk or on the sofa instead of only in the bed. It has a clean and good bathroom. The owner, like all said in former reviews, is very friendly and always ready to help with necessary things. We were traveling in a camper before going into quarantine, and during a trip to the supermarket we got a mechanical problem. We called Roci and she helped us by coming for us and helping us to search for the right mechanic. Roci is also constantly making improvements in the place. During our time there, she got better internet and there is a beginning for having a better water-system for the whole house. We were very happy there and will probably go back in the future. This place is worth it's name! Really nice!

Incredible place at the foot of the mountain, at the edge of the city, away from all the crowd and cars, but just one bus or taxi away from it. Beautiful view from the shared roof terrace. The best sunrise and sunset view! And last, but not least, the host is the most caring, sweet person. I would definitely recommend staying here!

Rosi's place is absolutely amazing. I spent 6 months coming and going throughout Oaxaca and Mexico and every time I found myself happily back at Casa Montaña. Rosi is like having a Oaxacan Mommy always watching out over you and genuinely helping you. She is the sweetest lady and truly wants you to enjoy the space and the city to its full potential. The internet is fast, the space is clean, the rooftops are amazing, and its easily connected to centro via bus and collectivos right outside the property. She is constantly making improvements to each of the rooms and self-sufficient mini apartments. This is the perfect place to stay for a long weekend in Oaxaca or an extended stay. Thank you Rosi! I can't wait to come back and visit. :)

This place is totally enchanting! Rosi, the owner, is attentive to every need and forthcoming very quickly with anything necessary. The many flowers and beautiful gardens are everywhere one looks. The accommodations are comfortable and clean and it feels very safe. Close to the mountains and good walking, but so quiet and tranquil. Clear skies at night allow for star watching. Also going anywhere else is easy and not expensive on a bus or in a taxi. Downtown Oaxaca is an easy 20 minute bus ride. Only 10 minutes to a shopping area. I love this place and would return whenever I had the chance!

I spent 6 weeks living at Casa Montaña Oaxaca and I was so sad to leave. This magical place seems to draw in the most wonderful people... which I'm sure is a reflection of the love, care, friendship and kindness of the host family. Never have I ever felt so welcomed, cared for and invited into a community. I will definitely be returning next time I'm in Oaxaca.
