★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I chatted with Camila through Instagram and Whatsapp to learn more about transportation from the airport. They were incredibly responsive and kind and answered all of my questions. I am very much looking forward to our stay later this month!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing ocean front location but that’s about it. Although ocean front rooms should be listed as ‘partial ocean view’ as you can’t see the ocean from the tent and can see glimpses of it between the bushes.
On our first night we were told ‘you’re so lucky there’s a party happening tonight’ - said party cost 90 usd (no thanks) and had music blasting into the casa Nawal area until 1am. We were probably furthest away and we still couldn’t sleep.
Reception area was messy and full of boxes (not a good first impression for a place branding itself on the premium end of the spectrum).
Tent looked nice and had good aircon which is definitely needed in the days heat. Very weak security- we were given a tiny lock for our tent and no security box. A mini fridge would also be useful.
Security were present at night but all you had to say was ‘I’m staying here’ and they’d let you wonder around. Not good when you can access the site direct from the beach and the Ikal bar.
Ikal bar was overpriced and staff got stroppy when we didn’t tip after asking 5+ times for the bill.
All you’re paying for is location here- I’d highly recommend staying in town (better cheaper food and nightlife) and cycle/taxi to the beach. Hotel zenses in town was sooooooo nicer and peaceful in comparison.
Also the stretch of bars and restaurants on the beach is very long - you’ll need to taxi (very expensive prices for Mexico) or cycle to get to the lively (and expensive) bit of the beach strip. We didn’t really get a sense of this before booking.
I had an Airbnb booking error as the app processed the booking twice. It took ALOT of persistence and communication to get the money back. The staff felt complacent and without my effort they probably wouldn’t have done anything about it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Simple and rustic, Casa Nawal is an amazing place for a chilled out and peaceful vacation. I’m not particularly keen on Tulum in general, but this spot takes you out of the scene and bustle and feels like a private oasis. Bathrooms are communal and rooms are simple, but that’s part of the fun of this experience and keeps things humble and relaxed.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Casa Nawal is overall a nice place because of IKAL, which is the name of the other "glamping" complex that owns the land + the bar/restaurant + the other infrastructures.
The place is lovely, the environment is peaceful and there's a friendly atmosphere. However, forget this place is you want to rest, if you think it will rain, or if you are looking for a decent customer service.
During the first night, we got TWO SCORPIONS in the tent because our "mosquito door" was broken. This had been signalled multiple times to the reception, but nothing got repaired. The next day, we asked Casa Nawal, to repair the door, as we didn't want to sleep with scorpions again, they had more than 24hours to make the change, but still nothing happened.
It has been a month now that I had been claiming the refund of the stay, which they finally granted (only 50% refund). Very disappointing attitude that ruined our stay in Tulum despite the lovely place of IKAL.
(PS: if it rains, forget this place as it becomes HELL: it rains inside your tent, mud everywhere as your tent isn't on wood as shown on the website but on sand) Good luck!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wasn’t really impressed with this place at all.
We got the ocean front tent and we could barely see the ocean because of these massive bushes. The tent itself was nice inside but really poor ventilation if you wanted to sleep without the aircon. The chairs they provided were really uncomfortable. The wash facilities were OK. I showered in several different stalls and each of them flooded and it just grossed me out thinking of why the system was so backed up.
I was hoping this would be a peaceful, isolated stay for relaxation but it was hectic at all hours of the day and into the night. I felt like visitors were given priority over actual hotel guests. It was impossible to get a place to lay out. Definitely a place where influencers come to take photos - really picturesque but just not easy to enjoy when ppl are taking selfies and posing all around you. On the beach directly outside, it felt like all of Tulum was there. Hundreds of people crowded… you can barely find a place to put your towel. Do not come here for the beach.
Driving here is an actual nightmare. Took us at least 45 minutes to reach this place from the roundabout, about 2 miles. Parking is also insane and there’s no reserved parking for guests.
The staff is slammed and I felt really bad for them. Please hire more people and give your kitchen and bar staff a break - they’re all so stressed out. I know it can be afforded at the ridiculously high prices charged.
Better to stay in town and get a more relaxing stay for a fraction of the price and access to way better food and a less stressful atmosphere.
One attraction I really enjoyed was the fire pit. It was a nice touch.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Our stay at Casa Nawal was nice. The location is fantastic. Peace the property manager was very kind and welcoming. The room was as expected and the wash facilities were great. The beach and water were very nice and the locals were fantastic. My wife really enjoyed the yoga offerings. The people watching was A+ for a while but we grew very weary of all the scenesters after a few days. If that’s your thing though you’ll love it!
However you don’t really feel as secluded or cut-off from civilization as I had hoped. The beach and adjoining restaurant is very “scene” oriented with lots of rich young people posing for Instagram photos pretending to rough it and be part of nature. Prices on this part of the beach are high, but now I understand why with all the trustafarians hanging around. Food at the restaurant was good except for Sunday they must have had a different cook. The restaurant did have some good bands and opportunities for dancing.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolutely wonderful customer service. Camilla & Patricia and the rest of the staff went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. They remembered our names and were so personable! The showers were a great temperature, toilets were clean, housekeeping came daily and kept the tent and cabanas organized and clean as well. I would come back in a heartbeat. Thank you for a perfect stay!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I adore this place. The staff was kindly accommodating in all aspects.
By organizing transportation, spa appointments, easy payments, as well as answered every question and concern. The security was fantastic and I felt completely safe. The entire property was well managed, maintained and most important was clean. Everyone was friendly and helpful. I will definitely be returning to this beautiful, relaxing and comfortable place.
