This was my first time salt water fly fishing, and Chase and the gang made sure it won't be my last. The guides we absolutely fantastic, and the location can't be beat.

We had a wonderful stay here. Benjamin and staff were really nice and helped us with everything. Nice rooms with great view, very nice beach! Kajaks for free. Really a very nice place!

Beautiful views, clean rooms and property. Benjamin is wonderful, owner Jim was so nice, his son Chase taught my husband how to throw a fly rod, Susi cooked amazing breakfast and of course I love Wera the dog. Cannot say anything bad about Casa Paraiso. I recommend staying here if you come to Xcalak, Mexico. I would come to Xcalak just to stay here...so peaceful.

I was lucky enough to spend a week at Casa Paraiso in April, primarily for fishing. The property is right on the beach and has all the comforts you need, including good Wi-Fi which are required to keep up with work. The fly fishing in the surrounding waters is nothing short of fantastic. The water is so beautiful and I caught my first ever bonefish, And then many more over the course of the week. Had I been a more accomplished fly caster, would’ve easily caught my first permit. I had many opportunities. Jim and Lisa Looney are wonderful hosts. You will not be disappointed.

Exceptional hospitality, breathtaking views, and incredible experience Every second of my stay at Casa Paraiso exceeded my expectations. When planning my trip, I was looking for a remote, isolated small hotel with a beautiful beach, turquoise waters, coral reefs accessible for snorkeling right off the beach, and very little surrounding development. I needed a getaway that forced me to disconnect and slow down from the hustle and bustle of day to day chaos—work, electronics, family, friends, etc. I wasn’t looking for the industrial tourism, hotels stacked on top of each other down the beaches, or night clubs/spas. This is why when discovering the isolated, serene, and flawless resort, Casa Paraiso in Xcalak, I was elated. The moment I sunk my toes into the sandy, pristine beach with lounge chairs shaded by palm trees, I was immediately put at ease with the windchimes singing in the gentle breeze smelling of salt water. I was greeted right away by the owners, Lisa, Jim, and Chase, who quickly established this feeling of being welcomed by family. The hospitality provided throughout my stay was exceptional –the cleanliness and consideration for every little detail whether it be in the rooms, on the beach, or dining area was unmatched. It was clear the other guests also felt the same way. The owners and staff were very attentive to the guests needs. The food was authentic and absolutely delicious! The owners took a sincere interest in making sure their guests had everything necessary to make their vacation stay exactly what they intended. Not to mention the conversation with the owners and other guests was enjoyable and educational learning about and from each other. There were several activities to do, including kayaking, snorkeling, fishing, walking the beach, riding bikes, paddle boarding, or simply lounging at the end of the dock in the hammocks swaying in the breeze. The beach was very well-maintained, as well as all the equipment for activities. One of my favorite activities was watching the sunrise each morning. Wow, what a breathtaking sight! Snorkeling amongst the coral right off the beach was incredible—the vibrant fish and exotic coral in the turquoise waters. It was so nice to just walk up the beach to a lounge chair under shade and have a fresh coconut waiting—its little things! It was also enjoyable to hear the fly fishermen come back from a day of fishing reminiscing about the Permit and Bonefish they caught with the talented local guides. The hotel itself was beautiful, full of vivacious colors—each room with its own theme, not to mention a stunning hand-painted mural along the side of the building. The attention to detail was impeccable. The rooms were spotless, solar powered electrical supply was reliable, water was there when needed, and the fridges stayed cold. Each room had its own private balcony, as well as a rooftop area to enjoy morning coffee watching the sunrise or to admire the thousands of stars under the midnight sky. I would highly recommend Casa Paraiso Resort to anyone looking for a vacation to disconnect, enjoy nature’s beauty with exceptional hospitality and breathtaking views. This was by far one of the best experiences of my life and I am grateful to the owners, Lisa, Jim, and Chase, for creating such an amazing environment allowing people from all over the world to come and enjoy while feeling like family.

This place was ideal for the fishing we were looking for. Uncrowded and spectacular waters that match anything in nearby Belize. Casa Paraiso was incredibly clean and comfortable--I was initially hesitant about the lack of air conditioning (the rule in Xcalak), but the coastal breezes made it unnecessary. The fishing guides had us on fish all day and it felt like we had the coast and the bay all to ourselves.

Fly fishing paradise! Chase and his guides had us all over different fish species, we had 3 grand slams in three days! Highly recommend Casa Paraiso! Clean, comfortable rooms, beautiful buildings and location! Fly fishing right off the dock, hammocks all over for siesta’s, great family run boutique fly fishing lodge. Jim, Sarah and Chase were phenomenal hosts. I can’t wait for my next trip! Only advise to anyone going down, practice your cast prior to going. Have that double haul dialed in!!

My daughter and I stayed at Casa Paraiso in March of 2022. What a pleasure. We really enjoyed the area in general, but extra special was the attention of the manager and owners. They helped us hire a boat and guide to go snorkeling farther out and figure out places to eat. But best of all was the wonderful breakfasts: and getting to sit around with them to discuss Xcalak. The room was also very nicely done and had everything we needed to snack on site.
