About Casa Schuck boutique hotel
This famous hacienda originally named the “Schuck House” then changed to “Casa Schuck” in the 80’s was originally built in 1871 and was restored to its original splendor 1968 by the team of Dotty Vidargas and her architect son Ricardo, as a grand scaled private villa for Charles and Gladys Schuck, who came to San Miguel in 1957 from Westport, Connecticut.
Casa Schuck became their winter home originally, but after their passing, it was transformed into San Miguel’s first luxury bed & breakfast in 1978. Upon opening the hacienda to the public, it was first managed by Nancy Schuck Cordelli, their daughter until 2001, then upon the retirement of Nancy, Charles Easter & Susan Cordelli Easter took over the reins.
Chuck and Susan met in New York City while working in Manhattan and their history of travel, enjoying life and family started here. They both moved permanently to San Miguel in 2001, after their wedding celebration with friends and family in San Miguel at Casa Schuck on September 1st. Following their unforgettable wedding came the attacks in NYC on September 11th and the world was forever changed.

From the moment we arrived and were greeting so enthusiastically and warmly by Alejandra, Ricardo, and Gabriel, we were treated like royalty...even more, like old family friends. Their service and attention to our desires was exquisite and heartfelt. The Royal Suite exceeded all of our dreams for this special occasion. It was prepared with honeymoon rose petals and matching white swans. All of the rooms are exquisitely decorated and expertly maintained at the highest level. I had made many arrangements with Alejandra prior to our arrival for restaurant reservations and guest room amenities, all of which were executed flawlessly and with her gracious, special personal flair. The rooftop patios with the sweeping views of the city and valley beyond added to our experience. Our private balcony overlooking the pool and courtyard was very private and beautiful. We are recommending Casa Schuck, as well as a get-away to San Miguel to all our friends!!

The room was beautiful and clean, the breakfast was very tasty with several options to choose from, the bed was comfortable and the pillows were perfect! What sets apart this particular boutique hotel, though, is the staff. Everyone was very friendly, attentive and beyond accommodating! Gabriel specifically made several dinner recommendations for us which were incredible and he took the extra time to make all of our reservations. If we find ourselves back in San Miguel, we will definitely stay here again!
