The hotel is beautiful and clean. Perfect location on the laguna, they have a gorgeous garden. We would definitly come back here if we visit Bacalar again.

Beautiful place, right in front of the lake. We enjoyed kayaking and paddle boarding which is offered by the hotel. Room was clean and tidy with a beautiful view of the lake. Service was great, the girls were kind and helpful.

We loved this little rustic hotel. We got lucky with weather, which made our stay awesome and were able to take full advantage of swimming and kayaking in the lagoon as well as relaxing under the hotel's palapas. The breakfast was OK but not great. Wifi is not accessible from the rooms, which was fine with us.

We checked in yesterday, but only 2 people as the room was reserved and paid for 3 people; please le me know how much credit or refund I will get before my checked out. Thanks gracias, Mayra

Unsafe! The hotel staff went into our locked room and stole from us. They left a small amount of money so that we wouldn’t notice. Apparently this has happened many times and there are more reviews on here with the same issue.

I don't have enough good things to say about our stay at Casa Shiva. The friendliness, flexibility, and warmth of the staff, and the location and layout of the docks and the rooms on the property made for a really amazing time. They allowed us to hire external providers and did not try to predatorily charge us as soon as we mentioned "wedding" like so many other venues do. They resolved our requests in an honest, friendly, and accommodating manner. I also appreciated that the staff were available for you but were never actively trying to sell us "extras" or interrupting our daily activities. The price is also very reasonable compared to other locations and what is on offer. My suggestions for improvement would be somehow getting a stronger and more reliable internet connection (it was serviceable and I suspect this is rather a regional issue rather than hotel-specific) and some wood on the dock will probably need to be replaced in the next 5 years. Of course, this didn't detract from our experience, thanks again so much for helping make our wedding and family get-together an unforgettable experience.

Perfecto! I do love this place. It’s so beautiful surroundings, clean, calm and staffs are very nice and welcomed me. I really appreciate their kindness:) You like nature? Like Less tourists? You must come here. if I have chance to visit Bacalar again I will stay here for sure! Gracias!!!!!

The place is very nice and serein but the glamping option is not for light sleepers: the noise from the highway was too loud for me as the trucks use engine breaks and the tents are situated basically in the corner of gravel car park and the street and with no effort for intimacy. The light outside are very bright and stay on all night. That said, it was rare to find a quiet place for our 3 weeks holidays in Mexico
