★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had a lovely stay at Casa Talavera over New Year's Eve. Location is great; the only thing to know is you may have some street noise, but that'll be true of any hotel right in the mix of things. The owner had excellent service, helping hold our luggage till later after checkout and personally meeting us to give it back. We also got a bottle of wine at check in and there was water available in the hallway for guests. Lots of thoughtful touches. Recommended!

We booked this place almost 2 months in advance through Booking.com and on the day we had to check in, I received a WhatsApp text stating that we should cancel our reservation because of some water pipeline issue in their property. I mean, problems can arise anywhere and anytime but sending a WhatsApp message is not professional and seems more like a scam. Although I was protected with Booking.com, they found me a different place but definitely I had to shell out more money because of Casa Talavera. They should at least email and let Booking.com know about the situation but It was me who had to let Booking.com know about their situation.
Poor quality
